   Had Christmas lunch. First 2 courses very promising. Main course very disappointing. Daughter had celeriac and apple parcel, and celeriac rock hard and inedible. Roast turkey was OK but meal unappetising as everything piled up on a small plate. Very dry - miniscule amount of gravy. Service was excellent, but food inadequate considering the price paid. We won't be back.

   Best Santa’s grotto experience! Thanks to all the staff especially the Santa who was excellent with our shy 2yr old. Went for lunch after in restaurant which was excellent quality and value. Building and grounds very impressive.

   We had our wedding here in October 2025. We hired the venue for exclusive use for two nights and had 100 guests staying on site. Everything was perfect, from check-in Friday, casual dinner on Friday, breakfast on Saturday, the ceremony, the reception, the dinner and the dance. It is a beautiful setting for a wedding, with so many indoor and outdoor spaces. Autumn time at Carberry is also particularly nice with the leaves turning on the large trees there. It is also convenient to get to - it is hard to believe you can get all this within a short taxi ride from Edinburgh city centre. The staff were fantastic and kept everything moving very professionally, not just on the day but also during the planning before the wedding. And finally, the food is amazing. We had so many compliments about the food and dinner service from our guests, which was great to hear. Thank you so much!

   Great service absolutely beautiful hotel and grounds. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. It is also only 8 min from the train station to Edinburg. Little tip....parking is free at the station and easy to navigate. Train is the way to go with an off and on all day tour bus pass.

   Fabulous hotel from the grounds with beautifully mature trees in garden to the elegant rooms this place is delightful. We had a get together for 18 people in the library on the first floor. There is a lift for people with mobility issues. The room was beautiful and food was delicious. We asked for a vegetarian buffet with vegan options and were delighted - sandwiches, macaroons, vegetarian sausage rolls and vegan haggis parcels. Staff friendly and attentive. Plenty of free car parking. Whole experience was excellent.
