Clean rooms, decent breakfast. Good transport links to the centre of Edinburgh buses and trams. We travelled on the 16 34 and 35 all transported to where we wanted and back again.

When I was staying at the Holiday inn express I ordered a tostie and chips. The chips were still white (not cooked properly) and it's the first time I've ever had a tostie that was microwaved. They must be pre-made and only toasted on one side. Nice place but avoid the food.

As a long standing clumb member of IHG Hotels since 2017, didn't look any further for our Edinburgh/Scotland's highlands trip so booked using member points for 2 nights. As usual the hotel room was great, pretty neat and clean. However on our Day 1, the food offered for the breakfast( Hash browns, Baked beans etc..,) was quite cold although we were there for the Breakfast at 6:50AM which quite surprised us as it's not a standard for Holiday Inn hotel. Staff offered a portable heater as the main one didn't work so big shoutout for arranging it quite quickly. Nevertheless, overall it was a good stay and I do hope to come back again.

Comparatively expensive, but that is primarily due to the location. The rooms were as you would expect, but they were in top condition and cleaned immaculately. Nothing was dated or worn. Service was excellent throughout. Breakfast areas are busy from 8:30 a.m. on weekends, so plan ahead. You will be asked to clear your table if you have just finished eating and folks are queueing. Iron and ironing board in each room is always welcome, to get those suitcase creases out.

Very clean and great rooms. Very comfortable bed. A very nice breakfast but very crowded as well. On the water front, very close to the Britannia ship. Easy to walk along the waterfront and some wonderful restaurants at the pier house. there is a fee for parking with a discount as a hotel guest

Had a lovely stay here. Jamie couldn’t have been more helpful. A real asset to the company. Helped us out so much and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Rooms were spotless and comfortable. Great location. Little gem of a hotel!

Everything you'd expect for the price. Room was clean and had all the facilities we needed. The staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was included and there was a restaurant/bar where you could buy food of an evening. There were also plenty of restaurants nearby and I saw other guests getting takeaways delivered. The location is ideal with plenty of regular buses, some nearby shops and lovely walks around the waterfront. There are some works going on as they're building the tramway but this wasn't a huge issue.

Very friendly and super professional. Made our stay in Leith fantastic. The staff, manager, reception, dining room and cleaning staff were great. The room was very clean and I would highly recommend staying here. Leith was lovely and it’s no distance from Edinburgh and a lovely walk to get there.

The service is great! Super friendly,! Jamie and the manager are our favorites. A few things in the rooms are in disrepair like the sinks not draining properly and the light bulbs out... the poor employees are responsible for desk duty, servers, bar tenders, etc. They do a great job. The free breakfast is hard to keep up with due to so many people and so little staff. LOVE that dogs are allowed here! When we first got here the room was very small, 2 twin beds... we asked for anther room for my brother and the wonderful manager offered us a bigger room with 3 twin beds. I can say enough nice things about the staff!

The room was quite small but had a decent sofa bed made up on arrival. The room was very clean, bed was comfy and had fresh towels and a beautiful spacious new tiled shower. The staff were very friendly and bent over backwards for guests for the most part. Housekeeping staff were fantastic and cafeteria and front end staff proved exceptional as well. One bonus was that they offer full laundry services through an outside company, however do not make this known for whatever reason. You drop off your dirty laundry at 8am and have it returned to you done later that day. Another plus, this hotel has a cool, uptown vibe and ocean views. There's a little bar in the lobby that closes at 11pm and a great full scale top- notch breakfast every morning with delicious specialty coffees to choose from. All in all the Holiday Inn Express was a great hotel experience, but the on- going construction zone right outside and lack of pool or other amenities made the room rates a stretch for value. (We did arrive in August during Fringe Festival so the hotel jacked it's prices for the tourist season. Normally prices are much lower here.) Overall it was a 3* customer experience from us.
