Really enjoyed my brief stay here. The lovely couple who run the place Craig and Anthony were really warm, friendly and offered great advice for places to visit in the local area. I will definitely stay again if I'm in the area. Good luck on the upcoming nuptials Craig and Anthony.

this property used to be a B&B, but is now more an Inn. the room, was clean & comfortable, but for us the only problem was how thin the walls were ! There was a well equipped kitchen, with everything anyone could need to cook a gourmet meal. it is a bit of a walk to attractions, but for those used to using public transport it is a 1 minute walk. Craig & Anthony were very pleasant & accommodating to deal with

We spent 2 nights here in June. We only saw the manager when we checked in that afternoon. We had left our luggage earlier as our room was not ready. That night when we went to sleep, a double bed & a single bed my bed looked as if the bedding had just been pulled up it did not look freshly made. On the floor were popcorn kernels. I took a photo of my bedding & the popcorn. The next morning there was nobody in the office when we went out. I phoned Craig to complain & asked that my bed be made up properly. That evening it still looked the same. I was not impressed.

Underrated hotel! The room was huge, had a big bathtub, a double bed, a bunk bed, and even a couch — all for just £100. Super good value. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location’s great too, just a short walk to the tram station and about 25 minutes to the city center. Also loved having my own fridge and access to a 24-hour kitchen. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in december and we couldnt fault it. The rooms we had were great.the fridge stocked with various was a nice touch.although breakfast wasnt available we got some bread and used the toaster in the kitchen. Its a 30 min walk to edinburgh centre but that wasnt a problem. Its also near to leith and all the bars and restaurants there. As it was the wifes birthday she was given a bottle of prosseco which was a lovely thing to do. When we come back we will be coming to pillars without a doubt.. Thanks for a great stay.

Stayed on Friday night, could not fault the place, excellent value for money, was aware that breakfast was not available but did not expect the mini fridge, croissant, iron bru, water and coffee etc. Beds are nice and comfortable and showers were small but fine. Cheers

This was a great find. Not your typical stay for two people but we totally loved the place. The owner’s were outstanding. We learned a lot about area and they had great recommendations. We loved it so much that we added it to our return stay. Perfect spot in the heart of Leith. Beautiful location and everything we needed. We truly enjoyed our freedom there and use of the kitchen.

Family run, friendly place. Decor and fittings a bit tired. Compared to staying in the center of Edinburgh, the price here is very good. Leith is a 15 minute cycle ride or 20 minute bus ride into the center of Edinburgh. Leith itself has a few nice restaurants down by the waterfront, although there are several parts that are a bit “sketchy”. I imagine it’s not the safest place to be on a Friday or Saturday night, when the young lads leave the pubs.

Brilliant hosts. Allowed me to leave my bags early and helped me the morning after my sisters wedding when I got lost and ended up at the flats upstairs, couldn't find my way to my room (it had been a heavy night before and I'm not a big drinker) I was mortified and the lovely man wasn't phased at all. We will definitely be returning thanks so much.
