Just arrived at the Murrayfield Hotel Edinburgh and already so impressed! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived. The location is fantastic — buses are right outside and it’s only about 10 minutes into the centre of Edinburgh, which makes getting around so easy. The room is spotless, spacious, and the bed is incredibly comfy. I also really appreciated the complimentary bottle of Prosecco, such a a nice touch! I’m looking forward to the rest of our stay :)

Absolutely worth every penny!! Staff were incredible, special mention to Pat, who literally couldn't do enough to make us feel so welcome. The hotel is just a 5 min bus journey to Edinburgh Castle (no26 or the no31) incase you want to sample the many many great bars but the hotel has a beautiful restaurant and bar! Honestly cant praise this hotel enough! If your hovering over book....just do it! You will not be disappointed!

I stayed here in early October 2025. The room was very nice and clean. The bathroom was beautiful, featuring stoneware and a shower stall with a large, super-comfortable showerhead. For the night of my stay, I asked if I could send a package to reception, and the staff was very helpful and said no problem. Unfortunately, the package arrived two days later, and I had already returned to Italy. I contacted them, and they even sent me the measurements so I could send a courier to have it shipped to Italy. Excellent rooms, excellent staff. Unfortunately, I didn't try the restaurant, but my travel companions were very pleased with the food and the selection of scotch whiskeys.

This is the first place we stayed during our 11 days in Scotland. It was the perfect home base to take an easy bus trip in and out of Edinburgh. The staff were so helpful with great advise on how to best use our time in the city. The room was easy access, clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed. The breakfast, while not included at our price point with booking.com, was superb and the perfect way to start our sightseeing. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I have only given the rooms for stars because we didn't use any, we were only in the bar, but based on that experience, I would assume the rooms are fine. We found the service to be polite and friendly, the bar to be very clean and serviceable, the toilets to be perfectly satisfactory, the pricing was good, the outside of the building had interesting furniture and was very clean and well maintained. We didn't eat, but again would assume it would be good based on our experience. We would return.

Stayed for one night with my other half. Room was fantastic with a large comfortable bed and large shower. Breakfast, which we got with the room was amazing and with the room it was a bargain. We did look at other places to eat on the night as menu isn't big. However, we decided to eat there and the food was outstanding. Staff in the hotel and restaurant were friendly and attentive. Would definitely stay again

Stayed here for a weekend trip with family. The staff were all absolutely lovely. Our rooms were excellent. We had number 9 which is a large room. The other 2 of our party had number 17 which was a smaller room but still of a size you would expect. Breakfast was really good and the 2 vegans in our party were thrilled to have more than one option to choose from. Thank you for a lovely stay and we all agreed we would stay here again in the future

The hotel is not smack in the city center but the price is well worth it. Taking a bus to Princes street takes around 20-30 minutes i would say taking into account the occasionally wait. The best thing is the great service be it for breakfast or helping us to hold our luggages for the day. The toilet is clean and same goes for the sheets, but due to the use of carpets it wont be spotless but alright. Ample heating which we turned off anyway. Overall the hotel has a nice quiet vibe though just note that there are no lifts. Breakfast is simply delicious and what a spread!

Absolutely lovely hotel. Highly recommend. Stayed here for one night and was very impressed. Reception staff very friendly, hotel charmingly decorated and kept, very clean, room was lovely. And the food! The food at the restaurant was divine. We ate lunch and dinner there and the two of us were very impressed with the food. Highly recommend this hotel. It’s a very easy bus ride into the centre of Edinburgh, from right outside the hotel.
