   5 stars all round Our family trip was a huge success. The facilities aboard the boat were brilliant, the kitchen, the shower, all lovely and in perfect working order. Even though it trip was in October we were really cosy. It was absolutely spick and span also. Our host was wonderful. Helpful, and warm, Natalie made sure we had all the boat specific info we needed to make sure our stay was all "smooth sailing" (sorry, couldn't resist) - but it was easy to manage. We took advantage of a couple of add ons for breakfast and a trip on our boat down the canal. Both were lovely and I would recommend.

   Our family of five had a wonderful stay at this charming boathouse. While the space is compact, it was thoughtfully designed and the bedding was comfortable. Storage was our only real challenge, as fitting luggage for five proved tricky — though we admittedly didn’t pack light. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for light cooking, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. Hot water was plentiful but limited in duration, so shorter showers worked best. Overall, it was a delightful and memorable experience — a unique stay that combined comfort with a touch of adventure.

   Beautifully appointed boat. It was a great location - walked and took busses easily. We were there during fringe so it was great to be staying just on the edge of activities and have the peace and quiet once home. Especially mornings on deck having coffee and items from the breakfast basket that we ordered (fresh fruit clotted cream scones sourdough bread muesli jam butter and milk)- that was great to have but even if needed anything else, Tesco around the corner and some good little cafe/coffee shops as close. A few little hiccups that can happen with a rental but Udam was very helpful/attentive/and had some great recs. It was a great and unique way to stay. The Camillia is a beauty. Wish we had more time in Edinburgh.

   This location is perfect to see Edinburgh. However, the description of the lodging as a luxury is a bit misleading. You are required to put your toilet paper after you urinate into a trashcan, which was a bit discomforting. Also, we saw a number of hand to hand drug deals out of the window of the boat. The beds were comfortable, but I would call this more camping on the water and not luxury accommodation.

   Unusual accommodation which is centrally located. Definitely need to be fairly agile to squeeze into some of the space but it's beautifully fitted out and the breakfast hamper was very generous.

   We had a three night stay on the Camilla. The boat was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The boat is perfectly located near the centre of Edinburgh. The bathroom is a decent size for a canal boat and it has a huge shower with piping hot water. If I had one negative to say about the boat it was the pumping system. The fresh water pump was extremely loud and would wake everyone up if you went to the toilet in the middle of the night, and you need to activate a pump when you take a shower or use the bathroom sink to discharge the grey water overboard. I am not sure why this system is fitted as an automatic bilge type pump with a float switch would be the answer, but the pumping system did not spoil our holiday, it was great!

   I had the pleasure of staying on both of the boats available and both are absolutely gorgeous. So comfortable, and unique, without losing the atmosphere of being on the water. The staff were brilliant and went above and beyond to help me plan out my trip and answer all my questions about the boats, and even had fishing lines for the kids! Definitely will come again, was a really unique and fun experience

   The boat was lovely, charming and well equipped. Natalie was great too, very helpful. However, unfortunately the boat just was not up to standard in the cleanliness department. The bedding smelled of wet dog and cigarette smoke. There was no flush on the toilet, hence used toilet paper had to be disposed of in a small bin - on which I could see stains from fecal matter. Aside from that, the area was horrendously noisy from the bars and pubs in the vicinity, and the boat didn't offer much in sound proofing. Really quite disappointing but hopefully the owners can sort out the cleanliness issues next time.

   I've stayed on the Four Sisters Boatel on several occasions over a few years - it's for sure our favourite place to stay when we're in Edinburgh. We can bring our dog with us which makes the stay even better. The boat is immaculate and the owner, Natalie, is so friendly and helpful - nothing seems too much trouble. She explains everything in the boat before she leaves but is always just a phone call away if you have any questions. The location of the boat is ideal for exploring the city. There are no bars immediately in the vicinity so it's very peaceful, but there's pubs a short walk away if you fancy a tipple! 5* for sure, we can't wait to stay again!
