Firstly, check-in was slow and quite rude service. I asked about breakfast time and WiFi (fairly normal questions) and got a very patronising answer. Secondly, I was told we weren't on the breakfast list then the lady just disappeared for 5 minutes without saying a word, just left us standing there after I said I paid for breakfast. She later returned and said we are on the breakfast list and no apology given. Thirdly, the room was not quiet at all, including at night there appears to be on-going construction work which we were not told about before our stay. I had even requested specifically to be put in a quiet area. My partner actually got a headache from the loud sounds. Fourthly, there were people hanging around the corridors including right outside our room, I'm not sure if they were guests but they tried talking to us in a different language, I'm quite sure one was high or on drugs. Next, the bed and towels had hairs on them and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly. I spent over £160 for a single night for this stay and it simply wasn't worth it. When I checked out I told the desk manager I did not have a good stay and she shrugged her shoulders and looked back at the computer, entirely unsympathetic - again, no apology or even attempt to understand why. My entire family needed a place to stay at the airport next week and I have advised Moxy isn't worth it due to our horrible experience.

Thank you for all this great service. We went only one night and it was enough to see how kind and welcoming are the employees. Great room and great breakfast ! It was a nice way to begin our journey in Edimburgh

We ended up here after our flight got cancelled. It was very chaotic and stressful but the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and patient. It turned out that the airline only arranged for one night, even though they couldn't arrange a plane for the next day and the fabulous crew of the Moxy hotel was a godsend since they helped so much in making sure we could keep our room even though the airline did not contact them to confirm a booking. The room itself was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was really quite nice. There's a pinball machine and a pool table and a bunch of other games in the hall. But most importantly: 12 out of 10 for the staff, thank you so much for everything!

Our experience at the Moxy Edinburgh was deeply disappointing from the moment we arrived. We booked using Marriott points, expecting a clean, comfortable, and functional room. Instead, we were met with problems at every turn. Room Condition The room itself was completely unacceptable. There were coffee stains in the sink, broken furniture, and a broken thermostat, making the room uncomfortable and poorly maintained. For a branded Marriott property, this level of upkeep is far below standard. Construction & Accessibility Issues What made matters worse is that the hotel is currently undergoing heavy construction, yet management does not disclose this prior to arrival. Because of this, the hotel entrance is difficult to access. Guests are forced to walk from the car park with luggage and then carry everything up a steep flight of stairs, as there is no lift and no staff available to assist. This is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one representing an international brand. Customer Service & Refund Problems After seeing the condition of the room and the state of the property, we asked to be checked out immediately and to have our points refunded. We were initially told the refund would be processed right away, but in reality it took three days. Even though the manager filled out a “rush form,” the result was the same — waiting, with no clear communication. What was most frustrating is that if we had been told the truth upfront, we could have used those points elsewhere. Instead, because of the misinformation, we had to pay out of pocket for another hotel. Thankfully, that hotel was a five-star property, and we have decided to use our points toward a future trip instead. Odd Staff Interaction One of the strangest parts of the experience was a staff member repeatedly saying, “Well, I gave you 1,000 points to say sorry,” as if that solved the issues. We did not want 1,000 points — we wanted a clean, comfortable, and functional room, which should be the bare minimum at any hotel. Overall Impression Between the poor room condition, undisclosed construction, accessibility issues, unhelpful staff interactions, and delays in refunding our points, this stay was profoundly disappointing. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves the experience for future guests.

went to comic con scotland this year with my mother, and we stayed in this hotel, and it sucked; and it wasnt worth the £555 price my mother paid. starting with the staff, they weren't very good, and felt like they were just hiring random people off the street. also, I found alot of them quite mean and ignorant. I suffer from a dairy & gluten intolerance, so I can't eat both dairy & gluten, but on saturday, when we went down for breakfast, there was barely any food that was suitable for me; but there was some options. for breakfast, I just ate beans & dry gluten-free toast, but a staff member told us that she'd put vegan sausages on for me. but then, she came back, and she told us she was refunding us £30 because there was no vegan sausages, and couldn't fulfill our request, and she also gave me four gluten-free croissants and two gluten-free bagels. except, here's the thing: I felt sick after eating one of the croissants, which makes me think they weren't dairy free, but just gluten free. I didnt eat the rest of my breakfast, and we didn't go down for breakfast the following days, we just ate gluten-free cake we brought for my birthday. my mother doesnt have any food allergies, so she just had normal breakfast, and she said the normal breakfast was "okay" and "not the best". room wise, that sucked too. the bathroom was incredibly small, only one person could fit in there, so if two of you were needing to use something in the bathroom, you'd have to wait. no iron in the room, you had to leave your room and go to a separate ironing room to iron your clothes, and only one ironing board was in the room too. for a queen sized room, it was pretty small, we expected bigger. the bed was pretty big, though. too many unnecessary lights; one being the light under the bed that turns on whenever someone stands up, but you can also trigger it by throwing clothes on the floor, and it takes a couple minutes just to turn off, you can't turn it off yourself. didnt like those green lights in the room aswell, they strained my eyes. I also didnt see the point in the light that's under the bathroom sink shelf. my mother couldnt turn the heat down, no matter what she tried to do it was permanently stuck at 23 degrees, and we had to open the window just for some cold breeze. too hot at night aswell, you had to sleep half naked, or sleep ontop of the covers instead. half of the TV channels didnt even work. there was SOME positives, like good wi-fi, and the bed was comfy. but apart from those, I do not recommend staying here, especially for three days; its better if you're here for just a day. first time staying in a moxy, and last time staying in a moxy.

Perfectly situated near the airport. Very modern place. Kitchen is under average. Service was friendly and helpful. Felt like a young and well attuned team. Reaction to requests could be a little more understanding towards some whos vernacular isn't English. Rooms are tidy, just the AC was a little challenging. Overall a good place to recommend for one or two nights.

Excellent location within walking distance of terminal. Excellent access to airport car hire desk too. Didn't use bar or dine here. Windows appear soundproofed. A nice safety feature is the card activated lift.

Amazing style hotel, very nice decor, rooms a little small but adequate. The hotel was busy and service at the bar was slow and more staff was needed. The breakfast was amazing and very good selection. Perfect location to Edinburgh airport. Will definitely book again and advise people to stay if flying from Edinburgh airport

Definitely an excellent place to stay if you have an early morning flight or a late evening arrival into/out of Edinburgh Airport. A slow ten minute walk, and you are at the hotel, or you can take a bus if you wish (which stops across the road from the hotel, coming from the airport, or outside, coming from the city). Staff are friendly, rooms are very clean and comfortable. They aren’t the largest but you go there to sleep not stay in all day (even if you did it’s absolutely fine). All rooms have walk in showers. Beds incredibly comfy and staff very friendly. Bar snacks and pizza and a bar, are about it, plus breakfast option, but it’s totally fine. You can stay here and get into the city centre on the airport buses, or cross the road and get the tram. It’s all so easy! Highly recommended hotel, without question!
