Very nice apartments with a amazing cafeteria. Good locaton, fair prices, polite staff. Make sure you will request a room far away from the front building door. It is too noisely, and it makes hard to rest or relax, because you can listen the heavy door shutting when it closes, or listen people talking when they go smoke outside to smoke.

Great food and lovely location by Arthur's Seat. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room itself just not for me; brings back uni trauma! Doors banging and loud people in the corridor at all hours. Not overly clean; hairs in the shower before I'd used it made me wonder what else hadn't been cleaned. Room was hot, smelly, and the bed was very uncomfortable. Sorry!

The room itself is OK. The matress is in terrible need of replacement as it had a major sink issue in the middle and looked to have been first put in the room in the mid 90s. The chair provided in the room was unusable due to being broken and nothing was done about it after we reported it on day one of four. The shower had its own mould experiments growing in it. As for staff don't expect to get any useful information out of the reception staff. All we got was a smug smile, poor attitude and them not admitting they had made a mistake. Cleaning staff were excellent and very helpful. I would not pay to stay here again even though it is in a great location.

For what you pay it's great value. Campus grounds are nice, Reception staff great. The bedroom is basic but the bed is very comfortable. The shared bathroom is clean but basic. Breakfast is fab. If you're on a budget or want something a little different I'd highly recommend it.

The location is good, but as a place to sleep this is dreadful, the mattress is like jelly, ridiculously over soft, no support, the room is baking hot despite it being just pleasant outside, the curtain appears to be made of tissue paper, so say hello to the 4am sunrise, the doors slam and the room is not sound insulated so you probably won't be asleep by that time anyway. Oh and I'm not sure the bed is a full size double, it feels extremely small with 2 in it anyway. The breakfast is good, can't fault that. I'd recommend finding a premier Inn instead.

The stay in itself was good but when we called to let them know that we forgot a jacket of ours in the room, they never followed through with the sending procedure after they confirmed they have it. After several calls and checks the jacket was gone and apparently „donated“. We think they pocketed it. We were extremely let down by that sequence of events and would not consider staying here.

Great breakfast Very well located Comfortable and spacious rooms. Wifi didn’t work well though

Edinburgh is expensive during the festival, this by contrast is excellent value. Pollock Hall caters for large parties; orchestras, pipe bands, theatrical troupes. It’s very cosmopolitan as a result, and extremely busy during August. An easy walk to Summerhall, Pleasance Courtyard, and George Square.

  3. Marion Robertson ★☆☆☆☆

Paper thin walls and floors. I could hear the person in the next room coughing all night and could hear him unzipping his bag, opening cabinets, running water of the sink, his every movement! Shocked by how thin the ways were. Also my room wasn’t properly cleaned so there was a left over mask and a sock, which made me question cleaning standards. My room was at turner house, the view was fantastic from my window and it’s a good location to get into town, room has a desk and storage. I understand they are dorm rooms and more hostel like but the sound thing is a huge issue

Food is good, but everything else is mediocre. They focused on security instead of luxury. Showers turn cold randomly, no personal fridge, weird windows, etc. They should invest more into the rooms of this hotel.
