We booked the festive lunch for four people. The food was ok but the service was very slow even though the restaurant was quiet.

Staff were very friendly however our room was terrible. Lots of water damage in the room and bathroom. We were in room 201 and the bathroom floor had a big dip in it from water damage. The room was not worthy of the price.

The stay was good overall - not extraordinary, but comfortable enough. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the bed was fine for a good night's sleep. Water pressure in the shower was strong, which was nice. The place felt safe and reasonably quiet, and basic amenities were in place. It's a decent option for a short stay if you're not expecting anything fancy.

Came for the Sunday carvery, huge portions and welll cooked. Staff are fantastic and can't do enough for you. One of the better pub chains. Never stayed in the hotel rooms so can't comment or rate them

We had a 3 night comfortable stay at hotel. The room was clean, spacious and well prepared. Had dinner from the pub every night and their food was great and reasonably priced. There wasn't much needed from the staff but they were friendly, professional and helpful when needed. We found the location to be immensely ideal when visiting Edinburgh. 6-7 minute to Livingston North train station with free parking, 2 big shopping centres with many eating options in walking distance,Starbucks right in front. I would like to suggest the management to pay little attention to the middle access door to the rooms which is noisy specially when there is a lot of guests movement. Maybe a soft close mechanism would mitigate the issue. Also the cosmetic appearance of the rooms could be improved. It would also be a bonus to provide family rooms with some wardrobe, specially for the ones staying few nights. Overall, we had a pleasant stay at hotel.

We have been to the Chain Runner on multiple occasions, we booked for Mother's Day and even though it was extremely busy the staff were as usual very friendly and helpful. We even picked up a tip on what to include when booking to ensure we weren't going to be seated in the children's area. Very helpful and informative. Thank you. The cleanliness and standard of food, even on as previously mentioned a very busy period was outstanding. The chefs certainly know how to cook and cut the meats. Our son had a cowboy burger. It was basic, but exactly what he wanted. This isn't 5 star silver service fine dining, but what it is, is tasty well presented honest food, which for a Sunday afternoon is exactly what we want

Enjoyed Hunter's Chicken with sips of Marstons Pedigree for dinner and Blood Orange Brownie for dessert. Delicious! Watching a rugby game on the big screen at this time. Aye , Scotland lost. Anyway, I really had a good time e with my family there. The staff were good, really. Thumbs up!

Good selection of Gluten free food. But disappointed that I asked for a cheese and beans jacket potato. There was hardly any cheese. So little I couldn't taste it. There wasn't much beans either.

Staff are a credit to you. We dine out a lot as a family and a couple and I have to say it has been such a long time since I have experienced such a warm welcome. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home with the lady behind the bar looking after us immediately on arrival and throughout our time in the restaurant with an attitude of nothing being too much trouble. She and Kyle were fantastic with my little girl who asked immediately on leaving when she could come back again which is no mean feat. Food was great, prices good, disappointed the carvery was sold out by 6 but that did not tarnish the visit at all thanks to your fantastic team. Thanks so much!
