   Hotel looked outdated on arrival but not as bad as other reviews made it out to be! Receptionist was super helpful and we didn’t wait long for check in. Our room was on the first floor and there was a lift available. The room was extremely simple, had everything we needed and reflected the price (£116 pnight). We had coffee and tea available in the room and a couple of bathroom toiletries. A few of the lights weren’t working above the bed and there was a lot of grime in the bathroom. Other than that, all was fine, the bed was comfy, the room was a good temp and the TV worked great. We came here for Edinburgh fringe fest, but ended up driving there and paying for parking because the train station was quite a trek, receptionist was helpful though and offered to ring us a taxi if needed. Breakfast was poor. The scrambled egg was floating in water, and there were minimal veggie options. The coffee wasn’t drinkable because it tasted really odd and the milk separated when pouring it in. There was a table next to the toast stand which looked like a customers table with old plates on, but it turned out to be part of the Buffett with cheese slices and tomato on? This wasn’t topped up enough. Over all, we wouldn’t stay here again but I wouldn’t expect anything more for the price. Thank you to the staff for being so welcoming and helpful.

   Won't lie pulling up to the hotel made me question why we booked as it is dated, however very pleasantly surprised when we went in. Reception staff were great, friendly and welcoming. Room was spacious, clean and modern in good repair. Location for what we needed was just awful but that's not the hotels fault, however the actual location is on an industrial estate. Breakfast was there, not brilliant but I've definitely had worse. Value for money though.

   I regularly go here for lunch or dinner with friends and family. There's nothing on the menu that I could criticise as I have enjoyed everything I have tried. The set menu has lots to choose from and is so reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and welcoming. Cant comment on the hotel itself as I haven't stayed. Thanks guys x

   Spent two nights 20/21st January. Staff on reception were excellent so friendly and nothing was to much for them. We were in room 8 it was lovely very clean and cosy . Breakfast was excellent . And Good choice of food Had a meal in restaurant. Food was great nice and hot on arrival and very little waiting time once ordered . The restaurant staff were lovely so friendly . Bar staff really nice too . We will definitely be back

   Lovely welcome though we arrived late. Beautifully clean roon, newly decorated and new en-suite. Great breakfast (help yourself),well cooked and good quality. Close to motorway for ease but quiet. Excellent value for money

   I know everyone has their opinions, so here's mine. When I arrived there was no one at the front desk, however after waiting for 5 / 10 minutes, some one showed up ( nice person though), the room was clean, in the morning went for a shower, the water pressure was piss poor, thinking the hotel was full as I had seen a coach full of people unload. Went to work, come back, the bed was not made, the towels where left hanging where I had left them in the morning, though nothing of this, went for a shower and same again, no pressure and this was about 7pm. Also in my humble opinion when you are serving eggs / beans etc, don't put them next to the meat products ( cross contamination). Don't think I will be booking into this hotel ever again.

   Very friendly, polite well dressed staff. Hotel is really welcoming and warm, the room I had was very spacious and clean with all the items needed to make my stay comfy The only downside was that the mattress on the bed was very hard and stiff but this is just my own personal opinion and please don't let it take away from the fact that the hotel is perfect

   The staff were great, very helpful and friendly. We were on a school trip and the staff were very well organized. The rooms were clean. The breakfasts were excellent, we had a room to enjoy our meals, separated from the rest of the diners. The location was ideal for all our day trips. I would recommend this hotel and I would be happy to stay here without the pupils.

   Please don't judge a book by it's cover. This hotel looks dated on the outside but is absolutely lovely on the inside. The staff are also brilliant and very helpful. Food is reasonably priced and tasty! The room I had was on the ground floor but was unique as it only had sky light windows that open with a press of a button. I could even smell the fresh paint in my room. Strongly recommend.
