We had a lovely Christmas lunch at An Doca restaurant yesterday. Food was very good and portions were big. Staff were so friendly and helpful and made us all feel welcome. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. Would highly recommend a visit!

We were guests at a 60th anniversary party recently. Private dining event. The food was fantastic, portions were very generous. The staff were all very attentive and the service was excellent.

We needed an emergency place to stay. The room was of decent size and the bed was comfy, nice big TV. When we got the room there wasn't any bulbs in the lamps, we had to ask for some but it was the bathroom that let it down. It was a good size but the toilet made an odd noise for a long time after flushing, the door wouldn't close, there was a strange brown fluid on the sink that turned out to be from the hot tap. It was leaking from the handle and the cold tap dropped unless you had a really strong grip to turn it off. The shower was powerful, too powerful for the flimsy curtain and partly flooded the floor when in use. The shower curtain rail and towel rail were rusty. It just needs a little bit of money spent on it. The restaurant was nice. The Caledonian burger was really good and breakfast was standard. I couldn't work out if it had just been taken over or if it was just being upgraded. It served a purpose and I think if the improvements carry on it'll be a good place to stay.

As a regular in the Caledonia bar, we went for a family meal tonight to the An Doca restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was set up well, with nice views. Service was excellent, an extensive and varied selection of food. Between us we sampled both the chicken and cauliflower pakora starters which were fantastic. Burgers were well filled, chicken skewers were delish and the portion sizes were very generous. A wee gem of a restaurant ✨️

Decent wee pub. We only went to the bar but the place was decent, plenty seating and had the drinks we wanted.

We were pleased with our refurbished room. The staff were all friendly and helpful especially David Fortune the barman cum everything. When we arrived the TV wasn't working and the toilet seat was not secure. He fixed both in 10 minutes. The full Scottish breakfast was memorable. David Pitcher, Cornwall

The hotel is dated, though kept fairly clean. No elevator, so be prepared to carry luggage. Room was clean and amenable, though small. Restaurant was crowded with people getting drunk. All this would give it a 3 star. However, the heater in the hallway with my room was stuck on max heat in the middle of summer. It was easily 35 deg C. I reported this to management and they did not see a problem nor did they think anything could be done. They were not interested in giving a refund. I will not stay here again.
