My 2 neices purchased 2 new years eve tickets. Neither was drunk, both got refused entry on the door for absolutely no reason and one was pushed and shoved by the bully boy Mark on the door! I hope he feels good about pushing young girls around!
Definitely not recommended for LGBT community as its not safe space. More like McDonalds kids party. Very rude and mocking crowd of cheap teenagers with no manners. I am pretty sure their parents didnt raise them well. Someone tried to take my glasses and mock. I am glad the security banned him and escorted us out safely.
I recently visited WhyNot Nightclub in Edinburgh with high expectations, considering how often it appears in recommendations for nights out in the city. Unfortunately, my personal experience was very disappointing and didn’t match the reputation or the price of entry. First of all, the music was extremely loud—so loud that it became impossible to hold a normal conversation. I don’t expect nightclub music to be quiet, of course, but this was at a level where you couldn’t speak to the person standing right next to you. Even after stepping away from the speakers, we still had to shout to try and communicate. Instead of enjoying time with friends, it became stressful and exhausting after only a short time inside. The second major issue was the condition of the toilets. They were very smelly, clearly not cleaned regularly during the night, and honestly far below what you would expect from a well-known club in the centre of Edinburgh. It completely spoiled the atmosphere and gave the impression that hygiene is not taken seriously here. Another unpleasant point was the sticky floor. In several areas, the floor felt almost glued under my shoes, which again makes you think about cleanliness and maintenance standards. For a place that charges entrance and claims to be a premium Edinburgh nightclub, this is simply unacceptable. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and a bit frustrated. A night out should be enjoyable, but this felt more like enduring constant noise and poor conditions. Based on this visit, I cannot recommend WhyNot, and I would personally give it one or maximum two stars. Hopefully things will improve, but at the moment there are definitely better options for a night out in Edinburgh.
I'm really disappointed with the treatment we received at the door. We showed our valid IDs, but were still asked to leave. It's unacceptable that we were treated this way, especially since we were all with valid IDs. The door supervisor's behavior was unprofessional, and I hope they can improve their customer service skills.
Security put their hands on women!! 3 months ago I was physically assaulted by one of the why not nightclub security and verbally assaulted by three others. After accusing my friend of being drunk when he slipped on a very wet floor, he was man handled by security without even questioning him. They thought he was too drunk, and without even explaining themselves they decided to grab him aggressively before trying to throw him out. I will point out that my friend was a black man, and i think this is very relevant to the treatment we received. After questioning them, they put hands on me, threw us to the GROUND where I bruised my elbow. Never happened before. They called us names, told us we didn’t belong here, their comments clearly strongly motivated. I wasn’t drunk. I was not causing a disturbance. Neither was my friend. And i was PHYSICALLY grabbed by the security in the green. The man smiling in the photo was literally verbally assaulting us. I called the nightclub to start a full investigation, but their false promises never extended past a ‘sorry this happened to you’ phone call. This should go court. Never experienced this before, ever.

My daughter was at the club last Friday. Her drink was spiked. She was very ill over the weekend. I believe the only 2 people that touched her drink was her friend and the bar staff. I know 100% it was not her friend. I did not want to put this up on the page but after 1 week of no reply to messages to the club I decided I have no choice. But to worn people to watch there drinks in the club as this has not been the 1st and it will not be the last unfortunately..
I was there on new year. Club was good but staff, particularly the “bouncers” were some of the rudest workers I’ve ever met. One lady in particular spent the night in the smoking area swearing and hurling abuse at anyone within ear shot. At one point she threw a glass bottle at a bin which smashed everywhere and started laughing. The male staff member on the door was also very rude and was being in my opinion verbally aggressive to wrist-banded guests. He claimed two of the people in our group trying to get in was lying and wasn’t with us when they were. Some of the members of staff made this a hostile environment.
Probably the worst club I’ve ever been to. Coat people had so much bad attitude that I had to leave. I was there before prime time and there was no line, initially the bouncers were nice and I had no complaints. But when I got inside the club (and paid my entrance fee) I went to the coat room and this is where it all went wrong. Seems like a money laundering scheme as they only take cash and they make sure to separate the jacket liners and the jackets to get paid double. To be honest it’s the principle of the whole thing. I could have paid for five drinks but I was so annoyed at the attitude shown by the coat people that I just turned around and left. Enjoy laundering your cash you scabs.
Usually a good night but staff were awful last night, had one member violently pushing my back, barging me through a corridor full of people who couldn’t move because it was full, wasn’t happy when I asked her to stop so told the bouncer I punched her and got me removed. Luckily they realised that wasn’t the case and let me back in. Staff need to come off their high horse and treat customers with respect. Won’t be back for a while, and hope the member of staff gets pulled up on this.
