Fantastic experience. Got a free upgrade even. Only complaint is the volume level of the microphones in relation to the music. Even at the lowest volume of music and highest of microphone, there is a notable difference. Of course you won’t care about it after the first hour, but it is something that can be improved.

Visited SUPERCUBE recently as a group of 8. We were given a room which was apparently adequate for up to 10 people - however, we were extremely cramped with just 8 people, so I’d suggest booking a room size up from how many folk you have. They hold card details upon arrival, fair enough, and you square up everything at the end. One thing I want to highlight is they tried to add on a 10% service charge automatically which we weren’t happy about and asked for it to be taken off as it’s discretionary. The karaoke system and mics are okay, not great, not terrible, however the mic volume could be louder, it tends to be overshadowed a lot by the music and you can barely hear the audio. It can be adjusted to an extent in the settings in the display but it’s not brilliant. Also, one of the two mics which came with the room ran out of battery with about 45 minutes to go on the 3 hour booking we had. The room itself was very hot, although it did have an Air Con unit which helped. The drink selection and prices were typical and what you’d expect - reasonable once split across the 8 people in the group. You press a service button in the room to make an order (as shown in the photo), however, one main gripe is the general incompetency and rudeness of the staff, especially one girl in particular (black hair and glasses). Fair enough, dealing with tipsy/drunk groups doing karaoke may not be the easiest clientele to deal with at the best of times, but the complete lack of interpersonal and customer service skills was astonishing - just downright blunt and rude. I’ve been debating whether to give a 2 or 3 star review, and I’ve went with a 3 based on the fact we had a great laugh and overall enjoyed ourselves. If they could train their staff properly regarding customer service and made sure the mics were fully charged then my rating would have been higher.

It’s pretty good here, value for money is good, we had room 2 for 2 hours which between 8 people was £15 each. Decent selection at the bar and you can press a buzzer for room service. The actual karaoke system is pretty dated, they mostly have older songs with a limited selection from the last 5-10 years (e.g. we wanted to sing Chappell Roan but they didn’t have any songs by her). The microphone volume was much lower than the backing tracks and we could hardly hear ourselves sing most of the time with no obvious way to adjust either volume. Not my favourite karaoke spot in Edinburgh but it’s probably the best value option.

Really fun night! Prebooked a room for 7-8 people and took advantage of our student discount for 3 hours for 1! Great selection of songs and good facilities. Staff were so friendly and helpful, and allowed us to surprise our friend with birthday cupcakes which we really appreciate. Pitchers aren’t too strong, but that’s the only area for improvement. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to have a sing with their friends!

Had so much fun here at a birthday party - it is the perfect place for all ages to let their hair down and become a star for a night - great environment, great set up and they bring the drinks package to your room, all a great laugh.

Great song choice, drinks reasonably priced plus a range of food. But what spoilt it was that the staff were not smiling and welcoming. Door staff/reception were like ‘bouncers’ and acted like we were an inconvenience to them, and they were doing us a favour. Major downside no Wi-Fi so had to go outside to phone taxis. The people I were with made it a fantastic and enjoyable evening. Sugarcube Cowgate I am not impressed with.

Pretty bad experience due to company policy, losing £25 deposit. We were unable to come to the venue for our 5pm booking on Wed due to a medical reason (one of our party, the main karaoke singer, was very unwell that day), and phoned to ask if it was possible to change our booking to Friday instead as the same room & same time slot was available when looking online. We were told "no, not possible, if you can't come you'll unfortunately just lose your deposit and have to make another booking". I don't blame the FOH staff member, nothing they can do with a cancellation & booking change policy like that, but you'd hope that they or the manager would be able to help and use their discretion in extenuating circumstances. I was told I phoned too late (I tried from 1pm and 3pm on the day, finally got through a bit after 4pm as they don't open til 5pm, so there must have been nobody in the building). Can't really foresee somebody being unwell 3 days in advance... The company's free cancellation policy is something like if cancelled 1 WEEK before booking can get money back, or can get credit towards a future booking if cancelled or booking amended with 72hrs notice, otherwise they keep your deposit. This leaves NO room for an emergency. We didn't even want to cancel, just move our slot to another day (which was more expensive and we would have paid for it, plus drinks etc). A real shame that company management doesn't allow room for staff discretion and to help people in a tough spot.

Great place, super friendly staff, good atmosphere, good service. Only removed one star because the lady spent about 10 minutes going through how the room worked, when we were clear we had been before, said we just wanted to get started singing but she carried on explaining while our minutes ticked down. She was very nice but it was a little frustrating.
