   Excellent customer service. Purchased Gray-Nichols Select Range short handle bat for £175 (Black Friday 30% off offer) and that price is difficult to beat for a quality mid range English willow piece. Kashmir willow SH Kookaburra bats were available for discounted price of £42. Real steals in November 2025 ahead of 2026 season.

   I used the stringer service for my tennis racket twice. The first time was ok I received the tension I wanted, the second was absolutely disaster and I had to redo with other stringer . Morningside shop, Head prestige racket, Solinco soft strings, desired tension was 25/24,5 kg.

   The courtesy, professionalism and high level of customer service shown are to be congratulated. Having tried to source a cricket bat and hockey stick in the larger chain stores who had also shown an attitude of “ if you can’t see it, we haven’t got it” and “over there” with no attempt to guide or offer service, I telephoned this gem of a shop. Not only were the items held for me until I could collect but Nicky had taken the time to find a hockey stick in the perfect colours - a minor miracle ! I cannot recommend this shop highly enough and would encourage anyone looking for merchandise to frequent it - not only because it is a local business ( I used the Morningside branch) but because they know their stuff!!

   Ordered Wacko socks on a Sunday and paid for 1to2 day delivery. They were part of a birthday gift. Come Friday, still no delivery. I contacted the shop and Greg got back to me very quickly. He said that the socks had been delivered the previous day and their courier had left them in my blue recycling bin, not a bin with a lid, which sits down beside my house. No card from courier so I didn't know they were there. After last night's storm 'Otto' I found the socks today, bag torn open and socks sodden and dirty. I made Greg aware, who kinda made me feel like I was lying about the condition of the socks. He did offer to send me another pair but I told him I wasn't interested, in fact not even wanting a refund, I'm putting it down to lesson learned. I'm from Edinburgh and thought I'd shop local instead of an Amazon purchase, but if this is local service, Amazon here I come.

   The reason for the 2 star review is purely down to 1 the women who worked at the store lacked the knowledge and provided the wrong information on how to measure up for a tennis racket, for a shop that claims to be a specialist didn't went against all the information online on how to measure against a racket. And secondly, appreciate we are going through covid , when the door sign says only 2 customer at a time in store , and she is only allowing 1 customer at a time in the store something is not adding up , you either re-educate the staff to be able to count up to 2 or update the sign to say only 1 customer at a time. However, the store does have an amazing selection of hockey and tennis gear. Just have to do your research first before coming to the store.

   Lovely, friendly service. Very helpful in finding the right equipment for the individual. They spent time with my daughter, choosing exactly the right hockey stick, and quickly found just the right shoes, which fit great. Highly recommended.
