   Had the occasion to visit this hotel on business and was having an early morning breakfast. Being Ceoliac I asked for gluten free bread with my cooked breakfast of one sausage, one small portion of scrambled egg and one slice of bacon. I guess they are on a budget with the breakfast offerings. Sorry we don’t have any gluten free bread was the reply. What hotel or indeed restaurant in today’s modern world don’t have gluten free bread for their guests, I may ask. If you happen to be Ceoliac like me I would look elsewhere.

   Best. Lasagne. Ever Went here for dinner last night and was happily accommodated for a walk in, the space was lovely and the service was great. Despite there being a couple of other tables, our food came out quickly and it was amazing Starter: sweet honey chicken, was amazing and tasted so great I loved the sauce so mouth watering Main: special chef lasagne, honestly it was so delicious and mouth watering the cheese was amazing I would have this every day it was so amazing I literally can't put it into words!! Please check this place out

   Was the place to go for a lovely meal felt like a luxury Hotel once upon a Time this hotel needs serious investment to bring it up to standard again Dump smell throughout hotel rooms in series need of upgrading Sauna steam room and swimming pool has been getting fixed for two years plus If it wasn’t for weddings, I don’t think the hotel would survive. I wish it nothing but The Best in the future and hopefully gets investment what it greatly needs. ( All above is my opinion only)

   Lovely lunch today in the popinjay. Had an Indian starter and main was fabulous. The service was excellent. Cannot remember the servers name but he was lovely. Made sure we were happy with our meal and even took the time to chat for a minute. Will definitely ne back !!

   Very disappointing. Had previously had a good meal, so booked for Saturday when we had visitors staying. Had hoped we were going to be in the bistro bar as it is cosy and bright but were taken to main restaurant which was extremely dark, one of our party actually had to use torch on their phone to read the menu. Had over 40 minutes to wait on meal. The 2 curries were lovely but the fish and chips and macaroni cheese were awful. Fish was tiny and more batter than fish and macaroni was bland and tasteless. So disappointing. Staff were lovely and clearly very busy which gave them no time to check if we wanted more drinks or if meal was OK. Had high hopes that this could be a new go to place for food but that's been crushed. Has so much potential which is not being fulfilled.

   Popped in for afternoon coffee and cake, unfortunately, this was not available, so the waiter did his best to rustle up an alternative, however we decided to have a drink in the bar area with a round of crisps instead. The bar staff were friendly, and the surroundings were pleasant and comfortable.

   Had a fantastic afternoon and met some excellent staff. Had a wee tour round there wedding room and was amazed at the space and the beautiful gardens. Thank you Popjay staff for a very welcoming experience

   I spent 3 nights at this hotel. Nice bed and breakfast option. My dad 85 years old had support at swimming pool from Daniel who works there . He help my father to changed before going to the pool. I am so grateful for his kindness as my dad has mild dementia. I am going to come back there as I have lovely relaxing time in spa . Megan gave me a good massage of my neck and shoulders. Room are nice but I couldn't open window. And I have to open door from time to time to get fresh air. I do not know if every room has thar problem. General I really enjoyed my stay
