Visited the hotel for a specific event. The hotel accommodated this admirably. We stayed for one night which was fine. Breakfast was good and staff were excellent.
We have stayed here a few times with my husband’s work and every time we’ve had an exceptional stay. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped, good heating and great water pressure from the shower! Breakfast is freshly cooked and really tasty and the service is outstanding. Whoever owns/runs this hotel has put a huge amount of thought into making guests feel welcome and comfortable and has trained the staff really well.
Nice hotel/restaurant and room was adequate for what we needed. 1 night stay when we were in Glasgow for a wedding a few weeks ago. Reason for the low rating is that we were woken on a Monday morning at approximately 7am with the noise of renovations in the room next door. The wall connecting the room was being sanded down and just generally very noisy. Totally understand the need to renovate rooms from time to time but don’t do it when the room next door is occupied, or wait until after the check out time. Not everyone wants to be up early when they are on a night away for a wedding. I had emailed the hotel with the complaint but have received no response at all, this is why I have decided to send in the poor review. Even an acknowledgment and apology would have sufficed, but to completely ignore me is poor service in my opinion. This was around 4 weeks ago so absolutely the hotel has had time to respond.
Massive shout out to the lovely staff he was very helpful, let me in at 6 am for few hours. I had to leave the house due to emergency housing repairs. He offered me a big room and said please don’t worry and if you need any help please let us know.. Hotel room was very clean. I highly recommend this place.
We got married here last Saturday and what a day it was. From start to finish the team at this hotel have been super attentive and helpful. A massive thanks to Sarah-Jayne and Louize for being with us every step of the wedding planning process. The general manager Adrian (AKA Hype Boss) is a credit to this venue! He was on the ball, super organised and able to make our wedding run the way we had dreamed it. Scott the guests have not stopped talking about how amazing the meal was. Thank you to all the staff at the Eglinton Arms hotel.
Had a Sunday lunch here. Food not the best I've tasted but nicely presented. Wrong food was delivered to table & was still charged for what I got instead of what I ordered. Complimentary sweet was offered only when I complained about the bil,l but felt too little too late. Would definitely think twice about going back
Lovely hotel. Great facilities. The staff are a credit to the hotel so welcoming and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Big shout to serving staff and especially Amanda for going above and beyond
Room was clean and cozy arrived early so had lunch ,staff were attentive the light lunch was good . Went for dinner waited forever for drinks to be served , starters were ok …. Main was awful both dishes were dried out …. Asked for condiments they never arrived clearly a change over in staff . Both plates went back practically untouched staff only keen to clear table had to point out food was totally dried out and inedible no apology or pass on didn’t risk order on a dessert !!! Seemed staff where more interested In setting up a table for next day . Disappointed
Attended the Hogmanay Ball this year, and had a fabulous night. This is not the first time we have stayed here, and will not be the last. The Team work so hard here to make your experience special, and every staff member deserves credit. Lovely hotel and would highly recommend.
Just back from an overnight stay at this hotel and I have to say it was a fantastic experience. Firstly we stayed on a B,B&B deal which was exceptional value for money. We paid a little bit extra for a superior room and this was well worth the upgrade. The room was massive, loads of space but extremely cosy and comfortable. Great view of the beautiful Christmas tree on the village green opposite. Walk-in shower was a great bonus for someone like me with limited mobility. Bed was really comfortable ensuring a great night's sleep. Dinner in the evening was fantastic, three courses with plenty of choice. Food was fabulous, every course a winner with the Cullen Skink starter highly recommended. In the morning, breakfast was also first class with plenty available. Once again a great feed ! Finally I have to mention all the staff, everyone extremely friendly and helpful and a special mention to Fiona who was our server at breakfast. Lovely person who was really cheery and helpful and provided a great service with a smile. Overall, a brilliant stay and very highly recommended !
