9 of us went for dinner yesterday. Was very lively but pleasant. Manager saw that I was struggling a bit with the talented live performer and moved us to another table (without us asking) which was amazingly attentive management. Food was great and staff were first class. Booking was easy and very helpful confirmation call from the hotel.
We had an epic overnight here ! Lovely welcome from Megan on arrival. Food and service was top class - well done to the whole team here - food, drinks & service all a great example of what Scottish hospitality is all about. Planning a return already!
Went to our friend's wedding here and we had a great time. Really friendly and efficient staff, great food and clean room with a large comfy bed. Would definitely recommend.
I booked my wedding here only 9 months before we were due to get married. I knew it was the place for us after my first phone call with Morgan, who was to be our wedding planner extraordinaire! From the outset nothing was too much trouble, no question too silly! (And there were alot of them!) I felt at ease leaving the finer details to her and her team and the couple of meetings we had before the big day made me even more excited for what was to come. On the day itself Morgan was one of the first people we seen in the morning. (Myself and my mum and bridesmaids stayed there the night before, would highly recommend to do this if you are able) and she had usual cheery face and calm exterior making me feel like everything was under control. All the staff were wonderful on the day and couldn't have done enough for us. Morgan helped us get ready to walk down the aisle and was there with a (much needed) beer and a glass of fizz as soon as the ceremony was over! Our guests all agreed the meal was the best they have ever had at a wedding. There were only 28 of us so we were able to pick the perfect menu to suit the day. Everything was coordinated to the smallest detail and the day ran as smooth as i knew it was. I can't recommend this hotel and its staff enough. Anyone who is thinking about booking here, go for it! Took my parents here on Mother’s Day. Was a bit disappointed with the food to be quite honest. Menu was good, service was good, but the the food wasn’t. When one pays £23 for a portion of duck it needs to be cooked properly. It was overcooked and tough on both portions, and the burger was also over cooked and nothing to write home about….We mentioned the duck to the waiter but didn’t get a response from the staff. We were also not given the Sunday lunch menu so missed out on all the roast options which in hindsight was a shame. It was very busy so imagine it was a tough night in the kitchen but this shouldn’t mean the food quality suffers when you’re paying those prices. Probably wouldn’t go back. Sorry guys, you need to get the team together and get some quality control on the dishes going out to paying customers or at very least compensating customers who mention they weren’t happy with the dishes.
A gem of a hotel, room was spacious & lovely with a huge comfy bed! Great location for a nice stroll into Strathaven. Want to give a mention of Gillian who was at reception to greet us on arrival, such a bubbly lovely smiley lady, nothing too much trouble. And to the receptionist who gave us a lift into town to save me the walk in heels. Will most definitely stay again! Thank you
Had the pleasure of staying here recently. Pleasant professional staff, comfortable room and bed, Nice decor. The full Scottish breakfast was delicious and almost too much for this burly lad but I managed to finish it. Nothing but praise.
En route to our Scottish elopement, we visited here as a halfway stopover. What a lovely hotel, clean, comfy room and delicious food! The staff were super friendly and kindly put us in the quieter quarters of the hotel, as there was a wedding going on. We didn’t hear a peep! Breakfast was equally as scrummy. What a way to start the celebrations. Thanks to all at Strathaven, we’re looking forward to coming back next time we travel to Scotland!
The staff are absolutely brilliant! They couldn’t do enough for us whether it was serving us delicious food at dinner or at breakfast when we were offered a bacon roll to take away instead of eating in. I was really surprised to discover that the food is really good! I will Come back again, thank you!
