Great wee place, close to amenities. Cozy rooms. Very friendly staff who will go above and beyond to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Staff also knowledgeable about local area, where to drink/eat etc. Great place to stay, would definitely recommend.
The hotel is located in a great area for getting out to explore. Our room was small, but very clean and tidy! The walls seemed to be pretty thin because we could hear snoring and talking throughout the night from other rooms. Joe at the front desk was so very pleasant every time we saw him! It’s a cute local place to stay if you want to support a local business and not a chain, like we did.
The room was cozy, and all the staff were friendly. A warm breakfast gave me the energy to start the day. Buses to both the city center and the airport stop right in front of the accommodation. Within walking distance from the accommodation is the University of Glasgow with its long history, along with museums and nice park. There is also a well-rated restaurant and a nearby supermarket. It’s not a modern place, but it’s the best accommodation for experiencing a Scottish BnB. Especially since you can walk to the SEC, it’s a great choice for travelers visiting the SEC. If I visit Glasgow again, I would love to stay here once more.
We had a very nice stay at Kelvingrove Hotel. We've stayed there before so we know what to expect. Our room looked out onto Sauchiehall Street, but because there was double glazing, we weren't too bothered by road noises. There were some, but not bad enough to disturb us. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The bathroom was a wee bit small, you can tell it was added in looking at the beautiful coving, but it was clean and functional. The wifi at the hotel was nice and fast. Joe, who seemed to be there all the time during our stay and did everything, was great. He made us feel very welcome and was friendly and welcoming. He even cooked the breakfast, which was very good indeed. The location was ideal for us as we were attending events at Kelvin Hall. Parking is a little bit expensive and there is a 3-hour limit during the week which is continuous, which means it is not reset to zero at midnight. You cannot buy any more time on your parking app. This may trip people up. All in all, a perfect hotel for us.
Just what was required for a W/E event at Kelvin Hall. Ticked all the boxes for location, cleanliness and a lovely hot cooked breakfast. All the staff very friendly and attentive especially Joe manning reception. Room was situated at end of a corridor and it was lovely and quiet for overnight. Nice and cosy with ease of controlling temperature. Excellent shower. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
We stayed at the Kelvingrove Hotel for three nights in January 2023. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The room itself was immaculate and the beds were comfortable. The only minor issue was that you could hear a lot of noise outside (especially drunk people at 3am) but luckily this didn’t really bother me, it’s only if you’re a very light sleeper that this might disturb you. Overall our stay was fantastic and we will certainly be returning in the near future. A huge thank you to Joe and Liz who made us feel very welcome.
What a cozy place! Liz the on duty manager was fantastic! She answered all my questions and had great suggestions. We had a triple room with an en-suite bathroom and it fit the bill. We did have to carry our luggage downstairs, but I was aware of this before I booked. The hotel is in a great location and I would definitely book again. Kudos again to a warm welcoming staff!!
Highly recommend you stay here. We went to see Paolo at the Hydro and it was a great base. Hydro walking distance and so many great bars and restaurants right outside the door. Liz was so welcoming and accommodating, the room was so nice and warm, big comfy bed, affordable. The 77 airport bus stops here too. Will definitely be back. Thanks Liz.
Room was very clean, only little specks of dirt but compared to other hotels it was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've slept in. They changed the sheets when there was noticeable dirt and the bathroom was sterile. Bed was also comfortable and plenty of cupboard and drawer space. Only things to note is the room size is smaller than some other hotel rooms and the hotel itself doesn't seem too accessible to people with physical disabilities, this isn't something that affected or bothered me but I thought to mention it for people looking for their ideal hotel. Overall it was a comfortable stay with lovely staff and is a good location for people wanting to travel to the city center and also has some local bars and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.
Was attending an show at the SEC and the location was perfect. Also only a 15 min walk to town. Gorgeous area. The duty manager Joe was just great! Seper friendly and very accommodating. Big thanks to you! I stayed in the single room, it room was a good size, could hear a few noises around in the morning, but I slept very well. Bed sheets soft and super comfy! Wish I'd have tried the breakfast!
