I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel and was absolutely delighted with the overall experience! I stayed for four nights in a solo room, and had the Scottish breakfast. I found the hotel to be cosy, clean, and perfect for a solo traveler, the price was great for the area as well. The staff were amazing and helpful, and the breakfast was simple and delicious. The location is great for walking around Glasgow. If I had one bit of feedback it is that the walls are a little thin, and the floors a bit uneven in places from the age of the building, and I wish I could have had a room looking towards the river, but the place and area was quiet, and I really enjoyed my stay.

Beautiful hotel, even nicer in person than on pics & the pics looked amazing. Staff members we came across were all friendly & polite. Only issue was I couldnt sleep but I think it was down to a strange bed. It is a firmer mattress than I use, but that's no fault of the hotel. Everyone has their own personal preference. Enjoyed breakfast in the morning, only little thing, bacon was pretty hard so struggled to cut, but again thats down to personal preference. I would just say in future that I don't like the bacon too hard when taking your breakfast order. All in all, amazing stay & wish it hadn't been a flying visit. Will 100% try to book here again for 2026 Glasglow light show if it isn't already booked up. Thank you

Very good hotel, with very friendly staff and excellent location. While we did not get to have breakfast in, it smelled great in the morning. Carpark is a little hidden, but works well once you find it. The room was quite large for the two of us with lots of space and very large bed. However, there were some odd choices in the amenities that threw us off. Our room had a noticeable dip in the floor that made the bed be on an incline, and not in the right way, so it was a little hard to sleep comfortably. The shower had shampoo provided, but not soap, which was odd. Otherwise great stay, and would likely stay again next time in Glasgow.

Excellent stay at this practical and well-located hotel. Directly across from the Kelvin Walkway and Botanical Gardens, the hotel is midway between student dorms and the UofG, making it the perfect location for visiting the university. The staff is warm and helpful. Rooms are clean and basic, with drawers for clothing. Provided toiletries are minimal, but there’s plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Towels are surprisingly fluffy! Cons: rooms are not the most soundproofed, but the area is quiet, as is the hotel.

I originally booked a standard room and was very happy to find I had been upgraded to an apartment room. The room was beautiful with crown molding, floor to ceiling windows, kitchen, and very comfortable bed. We traveled from out of the country and it was nice that the hotel was in contact with us a couple of times before we arrived. There is also free parking in the back or street parking for a small fee. The hotel is located in a great area across from the botanical garden, restaurants, and public transportation. I would absolutely stay again!

This is the second time we stay at the Ambassador, the first one in 2018, but it won't be the last. Great location. Breakfast was just delicious, best scrambled eggs ever! And David was extra nice and helpful. So hopefully we'll come back soon.

This was my second stay at The Ambassador Hotel. We came earlier this year when visiting our daughter and returned to celebrate her graduation. On both occasions we were impressed by the friendly helpful staff, lovely rooms, excellent breakfast. Particularly grateful for the help booking taxis and being able to leave our luggage while we were at the ceremony. This is a really good value hotel in an excellent location by the river Kelvin, Botanic Gardens and with Hillhead shops, restaurants, bars close by. Highly recommended. PS. Also love the idea that for every review a tree is planted!

Very nice rooms and staff. The whole house was very clean and welcoming. Sadly, the heating was a electric radiator (not very efficient) that consistently claimed that the window was open even when being closed for several hours. Location was good (near supermarket and busy streets with shops and restaurants), but a 10'-15' walk from the next bus station could be a bit long with a heavy suitcase. All in all, a very pleasant stay (with some minor inconveniences). Thank you!

We're in a double twin room and the room is clean but definitely a little worse for wear and a bit small and sparse. The walls are really thin and you can hear the water running through the pipes as well as someone snoring next door. That would be tolerable but the thing that really pushed down the rating though was that the water shut off in the middle of my shower without warning and would not turn back on (about 10 min). Update: the shower is still not working 9 hours later. Appears to be a fuse issue. Probably a bit atypical but would impact my decision to stay here in the future. Another update: they did bring in a plumber/electrician very quickly and he fixed it.

Excellent place to stay just outside the city by the beautiful Botanic Gardens. Huge, quiet and very nicely decorated room, with comfortable super king sized bed and lovely padded headboard. Spotlessly clean shower room and separate hallway with lovely sunny table and 2 chairs, superb room. Three tiny improvements needed - The shower was cold, both for me and my colleague who stayed in an identical room adjaecent, we told the receptionist on leaving and is looking into this for future guests. Bath sheets as opposed to towels would be nicer. Breakfast was nicely presented but a little over cooked. Would love to stay again soon 5 stars nice welcome 10/10
