I visited B&Q Bristol – Hartcliffe about 10 minutes after the official opening time. The store itself is very impressive — huge, very well stocked, and it really feels like you can find everything there. Unfortunately, today I can only give 3 stars. I was in a hurry and just needed one simple thing: a Christmas tree stand. I was told by a member of staff that a certain gentleman would open the doors, but I was also informed (very politely) that “we are not officially open yet” — even though it was already 13 minutes past the opening time clearly displayed on the sign on the shop windows. As a result, I left without the tree stand. Great store with huge potential, but opening times should be respected — especially for customers who pop in quickly early in the morning.

I came in this evening looking for fabric glue. I went over to 3 members of staff talking and the guy was really helpful. However as I was leaving I didn’t realise I needed ID for glue which is perfectly okay. As I left the women with black hair made the comment “she couldn’t get it anyways” which has really rubbed me the wrong way as if I had inconvenienced her by asking for a product in their store? I really hope that employees are getting the correct customer service training. This happened on 21/10/25 between 6-7pm

The warehouse was quite disorganized, and getting help was challenging. Megan was a standout—very helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. Her support made a big difference; I hope the overall organization can be improved so assistance is easier to find for everyone.

Good. Easy parking, not too busy. Got in and out with tongue and groove loft flooring in no time at all. Pricing also very reasonable.

What a wonderful place to shop for all things DIY. The lovely thing about B&Q stores is they are pretty much all the same size - massive - and are packed to the rafters with everything and anything you need for garden and home. The only problem I find is the huge range of seriously tempting pieces of kit that, once seen, I desperately want but probably don't need!! Iron willpower (or, in my case, a wife who drags me away from temptation) is needed if serious bank-balance-damage is to be avoided in this wonderful store. Massive car park also serves the many other retail outlets on site and access is easy from the main roads. Staff are great. Prices good. All in all, Top Notch.

Took my mower back as it failed to start after 3 mows…. Was a bit apprehensive as I didn’t have a receipt as such… couldn’t praise the staff enough… it was obvious they were experiencing staff shortage but nothing was too much trouble all done with humour and a smile… upshot being had a full credit note for value of the defunct mower so bought another one … different brand… excellent experience… Thankyou ladies and James…

Overall good stock but went in for a piano hunge and the section for hinges was all but empty, must be a national hinge shortage

A massive store selling everything from home decorations to building supplies. My visit was to look for wall paper I came out with some for one room and some samples for another I didn't really know what I wanted but found some nice wall paper that I liked and and I was really impressed with the amount of choice there was. I looked around the rest of the store and found everything was well stocked and the store was tidy. There was a good range of garden products outside. I looked around the tools and there seemed to be everything you could need to get the job done. I was surprised to see the toilets had been closed clearly for a while as they had built shelving Infront of the door blocking it off wich I wasn't impressed with. I also really don't like the self checkout with the screens showing you yourself scanning things threw I fined it really distressing just like someone stood there holding a camera in my face I originally gave 4 stars because I liked the store but redused it to 3 because of that like I dont have any problems with cameras overhead to make sure people don't steal stuff but this just gets your face not showing what your scanning threw so this clearly is nothing to do with security.
