Popped into Tesco café thinking it would be a quick and simple bite, but it turned into a bit of a headache. I ordered two jacket potatoes and one bowl of chips, nothing complicated, but after sitting there for 25 minutes the food finally came out and they only brought me one jacket potato and one bowl of chips. When I asked where the second jacket potato was, the staff member just said no, you only paid for one, even though I had clearly asked for two. At that point I just thought whatever, so I went back up and paid for the second one, which meant waiting another ten minutes for the chef to make it. They did give me another tea on the house, which was something at least. When the food finally came, the chips were cold, overcooked, and honestly just horrible. Couldn’t eat more than a couple. The jacket potato on the other hand was actually decent, proper good quality potato with a nice amount of cheese melted over it. Probably the only redeeming thing about the whole experience. What really put me off though was how dirty the place was. The floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped in ages, and the tables were all sticky and full of crumbs. Just didn’t feel clean at all, which isn’t what you want when you’re eating out. I probably won’t be coming back any time soon. Shame really, because the jacket potato was nice and probably the best you’ll get in Bristol now that Sup U Like has closed, but the service, the chips, and the state of the café just ruined it.

I’ve always had a lovely time in the Tesco Cafe at the Tesco Extra Eastgate store. The cafe overlooks the store and has a wide range of seating. The food here is always very nice and the staff are friendly enough.

If you want to wait an eternity for average food - this is the place to go!! Ordered lunch and asked how long the wait was, the chap told me 20 minutes. Fast forward 35 minutes and our food was eventually served. I wouldn’t have minded if it was busy but the cafe was pretty much empty!!

My visit to the Tesco cafe for "The Breakfast" was a solid experience. The hash browns were a definite highlight—perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. However, I found the toast to be a bit on the thin side. A thicker cut would have made a better pairing with the rest of the meal. Overall, it's a convenient and decent breakfast, and I'd likely have it again.

Don't like the refit. Too stark and no atmosphere. Staff weren't listening to our order so had to keep repeating it. And why or why did they not refurbish the toilets at the same time as the cafe?

Visited the reopened Cafe and ordered the Vegan Breakfest with Latte for £9. The food is good. The warmed butter is nice addition when comparing with my visit before reopening. The toast, as you can see is a bit overcooked but I will give it the benefit of doubt that this is only isolated incident. If there is anything to complain, that would be the knife is still not sharp enough. In fact it won't cut the vegan sausage at all. Other then that the dinning experience is good.

dirty tables food on the floor. It took around thirty minutes to receive my vegan breakfast which unfortunately was not worth the wait. The toast was cold and my large flat mushroom was deep-fried so it was dripping in oil. Not sure how many times the beans had been heated but I left them after one bite of rubberness.

'The Brunch' - food was fine, you get what you pay for at basically what is a staff canteen. £6 for 1 slice of toast, 1 'poached' egg (white was undercooked), about 5ps worth of beans, an oily mushroom, 1 hash brown which was well fried (if there is such a thing) and a solid slab of halloumi. Pretty good value if you don't fancy cooking but don't expect more than just okay.

Food is incredibly cheap for what you get, quality is pretty good. Coffee is not so good, but you get what you pay for (and to be fair I really like coffee). You have to put up with the Tesco ambience drone which can actually become quite entertaining, if you try hard enough. Kitchen closes 1 hour before the cafe closes, so if you want food bear that in mind. I was told by a waitress on Sundays the cafe closes at 3, not 3:30, as stated in the Google opening hours.
