   For a hospital cafe, you’d expect this to be a lot more presentable and cleaner! Look at the state of this place, with just over 2 hours of opening time left! There was enough staff, obviously keeping the place clean wasn’t their thing! Why is it like this in a hospital? Surely it should be clean/sanitised at all times. Also the prices are extortionate. You need to take out a mortgage to spend money here. Costa Coffee? More like Costa-fortune.

   i’m not one to usually leaves reviews but i couldn’t help leave this one I just wanted to give a special shout-out to Abbie — she’s absolutely brilliant! Every time I visit, she greets me with a big smile and friendly attitude that instantly brightens my day. She’s always so polite, efficient, and clearly cares about making sure everyone gets great service. My order is always spot on, and she manages to stay cheerful even when the place is busy. It’s clear she takes real pride in her work. Big thanks to Abbie for making my coffee breaks that much better — she’s a real credit to the team!

   Server did not acknowledge us, just snatched the heat to eat from my niece, did not interact with any warmth or level of customer service whatsoever. Whilst waiting for the food to be heated, I noted that all the customers she served after my niece were greeted warmly and respectfully. Would give a minus score if I could.

   Would give this Costa (closest to the entrance) less than 1 star if I could. My mother got served by a lady who made her drink way too hot, myself and my mother asked her to remake it as it was really hot. We both explained that I saw a lot of steam when she was making it, inclining that it was too hot. She said “I’m done” and refused to remake the drink after we explicitly asked for her to remake the drink. She didn’t listen to us, the customers. We explained that all staff members, no matter where you work in the UK, you have to listen to the customer, and you can get pulled up for bad customer service. My mother then went to try the drink, and our suspicions were confirmed when it was too hot, I went back inside and asked to remake it and explained again that the original drink was too hot. I also explained that we did ask to remake it before as it was too hot and as mentioned, she refused. All staff members at both Costa branches within Southmead Hospital are really slow and can never get queues down, no matter how many people are working. I hope when we go into the hospital again and use Costa, that particular staff member will not be on shift.

   Too good to go I picked up a surprise bag from Costa at Southmead Hospital today and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. This was my first time collecting a surprise bag from this particular Costa, though I’ve had several good experiences with other Costa branches. Sadly, this one was by far the worst — I honestly don’t think it could have gone much worse. When I arrived at the counter, the first staff member told me, “Unfortunately, there’s nothing left.” A second staff member quickly stepped in and said she would check with the manager. She took a paper bag into the back, and although I didn’t see the manager, she returned shortly after and handed the bag to me. When I opened it, I found only two pieces of tandoori chicken and a pot of porridge. That was the entire content of the bag. Given how things played out, I couldn’t help but wonder whether the original bag intended for me had already been given away or sold, and that what I received was put together as a last-minute replacement. I completely understand that surprise bags can vary, and I’m usually happy to take that chance. But this felt more like a rushed attempt to fill in for something that had gone wrong, rather than a fair offer of surplus food. Just sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision when choosing this location.

   Dont usually go to Costa Coffee. I like smaller homelier cafes. Costa coffee not good, plus always luke warm. Service not brilliant at any costa coffee

   Very, very slow service despite 4 staff being on duty. The slowest coffee service ever! I asked if it was a yraing issue, they said short staffed! But no room behind counter for anymore. Bring back the Europeans.

   The woman with the blue hair talks to the staff in a very rude and patronising way, tries to look busy but actually does not do much of anything herself!! Just my observation I have been in there quite a few times whilst my son was in hospital and I would get rid of her if I was the boss. She is always keen to shut early urging the staff turn people away even though there is still 20 minutes of trading time left!! I’m going to use the league of friends café from now on.

   Incredibly slow service, one person making drinks and 4 others chatting with them. Notice to please use the bins provided and clear your own tables but every bin is overflowing

   There are two Costa Coffee's shops in the hospital. This is reviewing the one furthest away from the main entrance. The café is a decent size next to the Brunel Building Garden. I didn't have a problem with making my order except the Barista asking me if I had a pen to mark the lids. There were a few customers next to me that had a problem, even with the orders Infront of the Barista they were asking the customers what milk or toppings they want which I found strange. One customer had made her order before me which was a black coffee to go and I still received my order before her. Then the Barista was saying she didn't get the order through the till, like it was the customers fault and was a little rude. When I got back to the room and tasted the coffee it was extremely bitter and burnt. Not good at all.
