“Absolutely gorgeous coffee, served with a beaming smile by the friendliest barista in Bristol! I live and work in the city centre and I like to pop by in the mornings every now and then for a coffee and one of their handmade cakes - 10/10 would definitely recommend stopping in if you're in the area!”

“Tucked away between office buildings is a gem of a spot. The full English breakfast was great. I particularly liked the AMAZINGLY crispy hash browns. The standard breakfast was under a tenner which is a bonus! Also had a biscoff cookie pie - lovely balance of flavours (some can just be pure sugar, this actually had flavour). We will be going back.”

My daughter is a huge fan of the outdoor toys and the indoor climbing frame. The food and drink is always really nice and served with a friendly smile. It can sometimes be very busy and loud, but I'm glad I found it none the less!”

“One of my favourite places. Been coming here while I've been attending the Dental school nearby for some work. A mocha is only £2.60, made from beautiful chocolate blossoms/real choc. I've enjoyed trying new varieties of coffee and getting one to take away in my travel flask. I particularly enjoy trying the monthly special blend, and getting some to take home (ground to order for my home espresso machine) has also been very special. I wish I lived in Bristol!”

“Mother Hen is a great asset to the village of Wrington. The welcome is warm, the food is great, and the ice cream superb. As an ex-cyclist, I can confirm that my kind can sniff out a good cake and coffee stop like bloodhounds. Anywhere they congregate is a sign of a good stop. I can also confirm that cyclists are frequent visitors here—testament to this little village jewel!”

We both had a veggie breakfast (a lot on the plate- there's 3 sausages hiding under that toast!) and a chai latte - for those who don't like coffee or want something different to tea. We got some cake to take away too and they were super tasty. Highly recommended.”

“So pleased to have found this superb little cafe, a stone's throw from the railway station. On the opposite side of the road to the main footfall, I think this may miss out on the custom it deserves. Generous and delicious light lunches put together with care using fresh and ripe ingredients. And as for the excellent range of home-made cakes baked on site, these are second to none. Definitely recommend that people cross at the traffic lights near asda and give this delightful place a try, they won't be disappointed.”

All the stacks are delicious and such a fun idea (loaded toastie instead of standard toast). I found the vegan scrambled tofu was a little bland but the other flavours helped make up for it.”
