“Mother Hen is a great asset to the village of Wrington. The welcome is warm, the food is great, and the ice cream superb. As an ex-cyclist, I can confirm that my kind can sniff out a good cake and coffee stop like bloodhounds. Anywhere they congregate is a sign of a good stop. I can also confirm that cyclists are frequent visitors here—testament to this little village jewel!”
“Exceptional coffee beans, my favourite independent coffee roasting house, also excellent at posting out a wide variety of very interesting coffees.”
“So pleased to have found this superb little cafe, a stone's throw from the railway station. On the opposite side of the road to the main footfall, I think this may miss out on the custom it deserves. Generous and delicious light lunches put together with care using fresh and ripe ingredients. And as for the excellent range of home-made cakes baked on site, these are second to none. Definitely recommend that people cross at the traffic lights near asda and give this delightful place a try, they won't be disappointed.”
“We booked to stay here as we were attending a wedding at Naas Court Farm. The rooms had everything we needed for a short stay and were exceptionally clean on arrival. The breakfast in the morning was excellent with fresh coffee and orange juice on the table for us and the service was perfect. Our experience was so good, we are planning a second visit to try their afternoon cream tea.”
“We called in to Donnie's on the way to watch the rugby in Cardiff. It is situated just off the M4 at J23A. The freshly cooked, traditional breakfast was delicious, and the staff warm and welcoming. The perfect start ahead of a day on the beer! Highly recommended.”
“We visited on a Saturday for afternoon tea. The cafe is warm and cosy and the staff are friendly and attentive. The afternoon tea is one of the best we've had, great value for money. The scones were huge and the selection of drinks was fantastic. For a fussy eater the selection of sandwiches were great. Would definitely go there again and would be happy to take my baby and toddler next time as the facilities for baby change was really well thought out. Great little cafe to visit and would highly recommend.”
“The food and atmosphere were great. The staff were friendly and the wait time wasn't very long.”
“The google reviewers did not disappoint. Thank-you. The most yummy flat white I've had in ages.”

“just wanted to share how amazing the employees Linn and Kay are at the Coffee Room. Every visit feels welcoming because of their warm attitude and professionalism. Linn is always friendly, patient, and makes sure everything is perfect, while Kay brings such positive energy and consistently delivers great service.”
“Lovely place whenever we visit. Staff really friendly & attentive. Had a fabulous Ploughman's Lunch today. There was everything on the plate and more! Yummy ^_^”
“Didn't have any food, but the hot chocolate is great and the people are lovely. A very welcoming environment, I'd definitely reccomend it.”
“I wouldn't consider myself a coffee snob but I've had lots of coffee around Bristol and this is by far the best! Had an Iced Oat Latte with Honduran Coffee, super smooth and perfect on the scorcher of a day it was. We didn't eat there but know the bakery they source their Vegan bakes from (Forest Bakery) and can say without doubt it would have been delicious. First visit, very impressed, will certainly be coming back.”
“My favourite place to eat in Bristol, generous portions, delicious food and great friendly staff. If you’re looking to eat here for the first time, go for the gyros plate 10/10”
“The Little Coffee Shop is a hidden gem that immediately captured our hearts. From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed by the sweetest barista, a lovely lady with soft grey hair and a genuinely kind demeanor. Her warmth and attentiveness made us feel so comfortable, even as rain poured down outside. She took the time to chat with us, making sure our orders were perfect and adding that special personal touch that makes all the difference in a café experience. My mum decided on an English tea and an almond croissant, which she absolutely loved! The tea was perfectly steeped, served hot, and had that classic flavor she enjoys so much, complementing the almond croissant beautifully. The croissant was exceptional—flaky on the outside, soft and moist on the inside, with just the right amount of almond filling. The flavors were rich yet balanced, not overly sweet, making each bite truly delightful. It was clear that quality ingredients and craftsmanship went into creating this pastry. As for me, I chose a chocolate milkshake and a chocolate muffin, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The milkshake was smooth, creamy, and wonderfully "milky," with a classic chocolate flavor that wasn’t overly sugary. It felt indulgent without being heavy, making it a refreshing yet satisfying treat. The chocolate muffin was just as delightful, moist and rich with a generous amount of chocolate. Both the muffin and milkshake hit the spot and made for a deliciously indulgent pairing. The café itself is small but incredibly charming, decorated with thoughtful touches that create a cozy, inviting atmosphere. Despite the rain, which meant we couldn't enjoy the outdoor seating, the indoor setting was cozy and comfortable, perfect for relaxing with a warm drink and good company. The outdoor seating area looked lovely, though, and I can only imagine how wonderful it would be in the warmer months to sit outside, enjoying the ambiance and perhaps some sunshine. All in all, The Little Coffee Shop is a delightful spot that we’d highly recommend. With delicious food, comforting drinks, a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, and genuinely friendly service, it's the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a great café experience. We’ll definitely be coming back for more.”
“The place to come if you want to drink an espresso while sitting on a swing (though those 2 tables tend to be the most popular). A bit too small to get the laptop out, but perfect place to meet friends and have a catch up. Good selection of boardgames too!”
“Nice brunch spot, quite busy whenever I’ve been so the vibe can be a little chaotic but the staff are always lovely. All the stacks are delicious and such a fun idea (loaded toastie instead of standard toast). I found the vegan scrambled tofu was a little bland but the other flavours helped make up for it.”
“I have been going to The Beauty House for a few years now and always have a great experience. Everyone makes me feel welcome - such a fun vibe! Special shout out to Tilly, who does wonders with my brows and nails! & Lucy who somehow makes the bikini wax a pain free experience. Highly recommend The Beauty House for all of your beauty needs.”
“Lovely cakes Inc vegan and gf. Breakfasts are quality and decent size. We had the house breakfast, avo toast and sweetcorn fritters. All delicious. Very very fast service. Staff are very friendly. Definitely worth the price. There is a shop with nice gifts and a gallery. Highly recommend.”
“We visited with our 16 year old granddaughter who’s interested in HMP’s and about to make career choices. She, and we, loved this cafe. The two men who served us were very polite and friendly, the service and food quality were excellent, a very memorable brunch stop off. We will definitely visit again”
“As a group of 6 cyclist we stopped at Jackdaws for lunch on our way through Malmesbury. We sat outside so were able to have our bikes close to us. We received a very warm welcome and there was a good choice of food. The service was quick and the food fresh and tasty. A lovely place to stop.”
“This is my go to cafe in Stroud. I must have eaten there at least 50 times.Always good food and friendly staff. The prices have recently been raised but it is the same pretty much everywhere else, and I will continue to eat there.”
“Had a coffee and breakfast box today. The food was very tasty and great quality. The staff are always friendly, helpful and polite. Lovely place to go and have your morning coffee.”
“The food is delicious and there are outside tables under the porch. So you can sit and watch the world go by while having a cuppa.”
“Great breakfast. Loads of tasty products. Keep it up please”
“we enjoyed our stay here very much. so lovely owners, beautiful rooms and surrounding. make sure you're also taking a walk at the marshland if you go there.”
“Came here the day of the street fair with my kids. Food was good and the staff were very good. Especially Polly, she was very patient with my kids and was really helpful and friendly.”
“Beautiful little hidden gem located in the heart of Cheddar Gorge, found it accidentally, looking for a quick meal with my family. Choosed the cheese sharing platter for two with tea. Just amazing. Served in real quality Porcelain, and the platter was amazing! Three of us couldn't finish it. Service from the manager needs a little bit of polishing but overall 5 star.”
“Delicious food, friendly helpful staff and a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend the Mediterranean platters - absolutely delicious!”
“Fantastic cafe, great food at a good price and really lovely staff. Simon was exceptionally good with all the customers, even finding a bear eye mask for a little boy who came in with his Mum. The young man who served me was very friendly and the young lady looked up an said goodbye as I left - rare to find such lovely staff these days. I highly recommend this cafe and I especially recommend the huge custard slices!”
