Our daughter has flourished at the hands of a highly skilled and well respected coaching team over the last 18 months, during which time, she has established new friendships and has learned to become much more resilient.     MBA has been a fantastic club for my daughters. Not only does it encourage fitness, but also respect for others, team work, resilience and healthy habits. Both of my children have consistently attended since the age of 3 and are now 12 and 10 which speaks volumes. The coaches are supportive and encouraging, and my eldest is now in Junior Leadership, helping younger groups. This experience along with preparing for gradings and competitions has really developed her self-confidence which has had a knock-on effect at school. I would thoroughly recommend McGowan’s Blackbelt Academy.

    McGowan’s Blackbelt Academy (MBA) as a family run club has been nothing short of exceptional in their development and mentoring mentorship of my child. The club brings a real sense of family and belonging into their teaching style. There is a no nonsense but fun approach to coaching which has contributed significantly to my child’s development within martial arts and her wider social development.     My 5yo son has been enjoying coming to Taekwondo . The owners are professional, kind and very knowledgeable with really good customer service skills. The coaches/trainers are really good with kids, they make the class fun for the kids, my son always looking forward to go. All staff possess amazing verbal skills to engage kids in the exercises, they have patience and take their time with kids. Mrs McGowan was very supportive and kind when my son was scared to start Taekwondo and helped my son overcome his fears. There is a waiting room for parents to watch their kids on tv, plenty of seats, changing room and toilets. The kids receive a booklet to track their taekwondo progress, it’s tailored for their age and filling it out and learning from it with my son is exciting. I found that there are plenty of classes running so parents can manage to take the kids along whenever suits. There are adult’s taekwondo and fitness classes too, which I may explore in the near future. Parking is ample and easy to get to.

    Excellent family run club. My daughter started just after her 3rd birthday. Covid lockdown restrictions had just been reduced, but after a few short weeks we were in lockdown again. McGowans family and all staff went above and beyond during these challenging times to keep kids involved, zoom classes and when allowed outdoor classes before finally getting back into the dojang, while keeping everyone safe. My daughter looks forward to going every week, and is building her confidence and fitness while having loads of fun.
