This pub was lovely. A welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas market we visited. The food was excellent, reasonably priced and a large portion. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. We will definitely be back to visit again on our next trip!
Had food as we know they have just started it ..was simple pub food at a great price .. I had scamp chips and mush peas and sticky toffee pudding and custard Great value tea and lovely helpful staff x
Just returned from our first meal at The Griffin since they began serving food 20/11. As a family of four, we were all really pleased with our meals; the food was delicious, quick service and staff very pleasant. Four empty plates were left and we’re looking forward to our next visit!
Love this pub! Great place to go and have a quiet coffee or a chat with the locals. Staff are friendly and land lady is on point. Attentive and always happy to catch up, provide a new drink it make amendments to food. The roast is super and very tasty. Amazing team! Keep it up guys.
People really lovely who run the pub and do the roasts. And the carvery is delicious and great Value for money. And if you get there at the end the lady will give you loads of meat for the dogs
Went today on a whim and was warmly welcomed by the front of house manager Kallie, who checked reservations and was able to promptly provide a table for us. Bar staff were polite and informative about drinks and food, we had the carvery which was cooked lovely. Meat tender, veggies good selection and seasoned well. Charlene the overall manager was very attentive to us and other customers and made sure we were served and taken care of properly. Good value for money and a great local atmosphere, would highly recommend. Thank you to all the team.
Visit a few days ago. Haven't been for a while and was slightly disappointed at the menu. Ordered fish and chips and gammon and chips. Food arrived quickly. Disappointed at the condiments. Gammon not cooked enough with the fatty edge barely cooked. Chips still hard in the middle and as for the fish , still uncooked in the middle and not eatable. Didn't like to complain but did about the fish and was told that the fish is from the Mediterranean and was cooked. ( it was raw ) was told the chef would be out to see us but this didn't happen. Was offered a discount from our meal price and was handed £5 cash. I did get an apology too but very disappointed for a £15 meal.
Visited randomly on the way home from a day out and was really pleasantly surprised. The place is nice inside and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. We had table service for both food and drink, both came out in good time after ordering. We ordered Gammon, egg and chip plus the starter of Chicken strips to come out at the same time. Pretty standard pub food done right. No complaints at all. There is plenty of parking here and outside seating. We'll definitely have no worries about stopping here again.
