Went for Sunday roast with friends Had the trio roast and added pigs in blankets. It was really good. Generous portions, good quality produce used. Service was excellent from Ellie. Looking forward to going back next month. Would highly recommend.
Just had Sunday roast and it was excellent well presented and a good portion good home cooked food with plenty of vegetables and reasonably good value for money atmosphere was relaxed staff did not rush you polite and friendly also compliments to the chef everything perfect Good choice of drinks everything you needed for a relaxing Sunday roast meal Would advise booking for Sunday roast as it appeared busy The menu for normal week days looked as offering a good choice
Went with a friend for a sunday roast and we were not disappointed! took a little while to come out but that might have been growling stomach making time seem longer than it was! Had the beef roast, gravy was good and thick, meat was tasty and not chewy, good selection of veg, good portions. Had the cauliflower and cheese and the pigs n blankets as a side. both were well cooked, bacon was nice and salty, cheese was cooked well and not soupy! Highly recommend it!
We have had a roast here twice now and always great food. Great to be able to enjoy the lovely garden in the sunshine while having a proper Sunday roast. One beef and one pork and clean plates at the end. Yum. Very nice venue. Staff are very welcoming and Dan was always around checking everything was ok and if we needed anything. Family friendly. And did see they have entertainment on too. Nice chilled vibe.
Visited for dinner on Friday night. The pub is really nice and refreshingly modern inside. We both had excellent meals, and the service from Ellie and Lucy was perfect. They were both super friendly and helpful, no matter how busy it got. Very happy to call this our new local!
Really lovely local boozer :-) The interior and garden have both been refurbed really thoughtfully, and now there's a big restaurant area out the back too. We've been in a handful of times and it's always got a really nice, buzzy atmosphere. We've tried a few things off the menu and the olives and focaccia fell a bit short, just because they were both pretty small for the price unfortunately. However the burgers on the main menu were REALLY good (both the vegan and the meat version). The chips were really well cooked and seasoned too, my only small gripe would be that it would've been nice to have a bit of green (like a small bit of salad) on the plate. Dogs are allowed in the bar but not the restaurant, but you're allowed to order from the restaurant menu and eat in the bar if you have a dog with you.
Such a great renovation job, excited to have a lovely pub with good food in walking distance. Lovely decor and logbhrner, great choice of local beers on tap. Could do with some more local cider options. We went in on Friday for a few drinks and boardgames, and will be back to try the restaurant!
The new and improved Rose & Crown is finally open. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and a good selection of drinks. Looking forward to when they start serving food.
Newly renovated and re-opened under completely new ownership. Modern, stylish and warm. A million miles away from the curry and pint type of offering of old. The area has been crying out for something like this! Good luck to all involved! Restaurant and new kitchen currently being built so definitely looking forward to that!
