Absolutely fantastic. Warm welcome on arrival and great all round service. We visited on a Thursday which is fish/seafood special night - two courses for Β£20 - and worked out to be great value. I had five spice calamari followed by Goan fish curry - both were super tasty and cooked to perfection. My other three guests all tried the fish/seafood special but choosing different things and loved it. Really enjoyed our night so highly recommended

Been here twice and always have had a pleasant experience. Relaxed vibe, great view of the river, friendly and professional staff and good food. Love their beef roast and I was pleasantly surprised that they serve Irish coffee here (great for when it's chilly outside). I also ordered a toddy (out of curiosity on how they make it), which was not as popular but the staff went out of their way to create it. Love the options for ordering and payment -- either from the bar or via a QR code.

What an excellent find! Brilliant riverside location, great food and excellent service. Sublime sticky date pudding. Big thanks to James and Lily in the kitchen, James for attentive service and Betty for making us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back.

Really lovely pub by the waterfront. My burger was excellent, hot, and didn’t fall apart like most burgers do! My mum said her roast beef was also lovely - roasts in pubs can sometimes be a bit hit or miss, but this one was very good! She’s a celiac, so asked if she could swap the Yorkshire pudding for extra potatoes. The food came without the Yorkie, but there were sadly no extra potatoes. That’s the only negative from our experience - everything else was great.

Amazing location with a view on the harbour and Clifton. Good amount of Beers on offer and a friendly staff. The only disappointment is the overpriced food. For small portions and okay cooking you do have to pay a lot. However, the lovely staff and atmosphere largely make up for it!

Enjoyed excellent drinks and lunch at The Cottage pub. Very friendly staff, large range of drinks and food. Mulled wine was great on a cold day. Recommend fish cakes with mango curry sauce, sag aloo and poached egg. Sticky date pudding with gingerbread ice cream is not so sweet as β€˜toffee pudding’ perfect.

Take a drink to enjoy the river view is ok but not for the food. Understand it’s a tourist place but the portion of snack calamari is surprisingly small (more then Β£8) and taste is not good, not crispy and taste plain. Overall the food cost is expensive. P.S: 2 pint of beer + calamari total costs nearly Β£19.

I love the Cottage Inn, and it's one of my favourite pit stops if cycling, or just strolling around the docks. I've spent more afternoons sat on those steps as the sun sets then I care to remember, and the view is incredibly photogenic

What a wonderful little pub! Honestly, this must be one of the cosiest pubs around, boasting fantastic Butcombe beers and, by appearances, although I haven't sampled yet myself, great food. Just outside is a beautiful view of Clifton and the river running through Hotwells right in front of the pub. Special

We are on a 5 day birthday break....and what a surprise! All of a sudden, in the early evening, the weather brightened up and the whole of Bristol was strolling along the river bank, paddle boarding, cycling and generally enjoying themselves. And then we happened upon this lovely pub. Perfect location, wonderful views, boat trips, good ales, good ( but expensive food ) and the most wonderful Aperol Spritz '!! And....the icing on the cake....Good people watching!! We used the App to save mixing indoors and it worked perfectly . It was busy. The staff were lovely and it was the perfect evening.....
