Both dogs had their vaccines including Nasal kennel cough. Young female vet was, as usual, wonderful with them. Given how nervous my rescue dog is she was calm and took her examination and injection etc with no problem. A great vet.

Very welcoming experience, moved here after extremely moving emergency situation, handled with professionalism & empathy, which made a sad decision easier to bear. So made it an easy choice when I acquired a new puppy to register her & my other βmature girlβ - will also be transferring my two 13 yr old Ragdolls too without hesitation.

Id have given 0 stars. Finally, after 5 long weeks since we lost our wee Cooper we eventually got his ashes home where he belongs. We wanted to share this about our experience with "Galedin E-vets" in galashiels. Firstly the insurance company lost our claim in their system due to a change in the underwritters, this was only resolved after contacting them and asking why this was taking so long, however has since been dealt with and they could not apologise enough. . They way this whole situation has been dealt with by Galedin has been utterly disappointing, insensitive and with no compassion whatsoever, for example on the day we lost Cooper being asked almost instantly "do you want to pay the excess now? A complaint was made to the manager and another member of staff replied with an email which concluded with "I dont mean to be insesnsitive, but I do need to make you aware that should your insurers for any reason decline the claim the balance will then become due from yourself", bearing in mind the cremation had already been paid for & we had the option to take Cooper to bury originally (but opted for cremation). To make the situation even worse, Galedin E-vets then held us to ransom and refused to release Coopers ashes until insurance was settled, which is apparently "policy" which we all think is disgusting withholding our right to have our Cooper's ashes back home at such a distressing time. The manager then replied to acknowledge the complaint. We just want to make everyone aware of this policy they have as as we have found this very upsetting at the wost possible time, it has been the hardest time with our sudden loss of Cooper and this situation has now drawn on for over 5 weeks. The vets in hawick have been so different in their approach and have been very supportive and understanding - the way a vets should be. Finally, we have coopers ashes home. X

Iβve been using Galedin vets for many years and Iβm always happy with the service they provide. I trust their judgement and trusting them with my pets is the highest possible compliment I can give them. I recently took my newest addition, a 10 week old kitten for her first vaccines and it was a great experience.

Fantastic team of nurses and doctors caring for my two cats. We needed a serious emergency surgery and that was organised very quickly, with all information provided and options explained. I couldn't praise the team more as they really showed great compassion to my cat and cared for him as I would. Thank you for being so wonderful!

All the staff are friendly and the vets have such compassion for the animals they treat. They not only treat the much loved pet but also look after the people who bring them in. Everything is explained and discussed before any tests or treatment begin. I wouldn't think of taking my pets anywhere else.

After noticing our beloved cat was not herself- and after a couple of days monitoring her- we made the decision to firstly contact our out of hours vet nurse- and then take her into the clinic for further evaluation and treatment. She was seen immediately and within minutes was declared very poorly indeed. Almost a week later, 5 nights in the clinic an exploratory operation and feeding tube behind her and although sheβs still not quite herself sheβs out of any toxic danger and back home to rest and recuperating. So pleased we had the insurance to cover whatever was required and impressed with the professional team- both our-of-hours and the day team- obviously weβd not hesitate to recommend them for getting our girl home.
