I really hate leaving negative reviews for local businesses, so I’m truly sorry to have to do so. However, I was quite disappointed with the service I received. I booked my car in for a full service before a summer trip to Cornwall. I had a great experience at the time, with friendly staff, and left feeling confident that my car was ready for the drive. Unfortunately, during the journey, I noticed a significant loss of power, especially when driving along A roads and going uphill. Luckily, I made it to Cornwall, where a local mechanic took a look at the car and found that I needed new spark plugs and an air filter, both of which they said should have been checked or replaced during the full service. After returning from my holiday, I went to Karly Kars to inquire about what had been done during my service. I was informed that spark plugs are not checked as part of their full service. I’ve since spoken to other mechanics, and while I understand that practices can vary, many have told me that spark plugs are an important component to inspect during a full service, especially at this price point. I would have appreciated it if this had been communicated more clearly when I booked the service, as it would have helped me understand exactly what I was paying for. I also asked about the air filter, and the response I received felt a bit defensive. I walked the gentleman over to my car, where he initially suggested that the mechanic in Cornwall may have “scammed” me and that I probably didn’t need new spark plugs, even though I had watched them being removed. When he checked the air filter, he agreed it needed replacing, which should have been done during the full service. He then offered to replace the air filter at an additional cost, which I declined, deciding to go elsewhere. I didn’t receive an apology, which left me feeling somewhat dismissed and like my concerns weren’t taken seriously. I hate to write this review, but I genuinely feel like I paid for a service that wasn’t fully delivered.

Have had a MOT and full service done here on separate occasions and both times I was very happy with the work. The staff took the time to explain what they were fixing and I didn’t feel like they were trying to make me pay for repairs I didn’t need. Would recommend!

Horrendous experience. Left my wife crying outside. Booked in an MOT for the day after our honeymoon, they assured us they could MOT a van and they had the licence plate number to check. Arrived on the day to be told (very rudely and unapologetically) that our Citroen Dispatch is too big for them to MOT. My wife asked for some advice and was told 'no one round here' would do it. It is now too late to get booked in elsewhere. What happened to customer service and human kindness? We were sent away and told it needed a Class 7 MOT. After researching ourselves and contacting other garages, our Citroen Dispatch has a max. permissable mass of 2660 so does in fact need a Class 4 MOT. So disappointed in the advice given as two women with little knowledge on this topic.

I've been taking my car there for about 6 years for an MOT and service. Always a great service here, car has always been straight in and out with only general maintenance issues such as worn break pads, tyre tread etc as you'd expect over the years. I've moved across town but still come back here as I've had such a great service from the team.

I had my old car serviced and MOT'd here, the guys were always friendly and helpful, during my service it came to light that I needed a coolant pump replacing which wasn't ideal, but I knew it was likely as I was losing coolant. The price was reasonable, and the work was carried out as fast as they could get the part. Where they really went above and beyond was 6 months later when I started to notice coolant loss again, I took the car back having had a look myself and seeing there was liquid dripping from somewhere. They called me up and told me that the head gasket was going (was something I was worried about as I had noticed excess smoke out the back but hoped it was just the time of year) rather than charge me an arm and a leg to replace the gasket or fix it temporarily for cheap they advised me to get rid of the car. Then when I went to pick the car up, they didn't even charge me for the time they spent, they did me a real solid and have probably saved me a lot of money in the long run. I wouldn't trust my car anywhere else.

Friendly, professional and good value. I have been using Karly Kars for 26 years + Karl and Nathan are lovely guys and have looked after all my cars in that time. Highly recommend them

Tried to book a next day MOT at 4 30 pm. Had a response within 15 minutes confirming my appointment. Car dropped off at 8 30 am and MOT finished before 10 am. Guy was friendly and service was good. Overall, the best experience I've ever had at a garage.

Went there for my mot and service because they advertise as economical. Been told some parts need replacing and got charged with £450 bill at the end. They did it very quickly and that's about the only good thing. The bill was listed in a confusing way and no one has offered to explain each component at all. They also decided to cut my key chain when they could have taken the key out without damaging it. Will stick to big chains from now on for a better service.

WARNING!!! DO NOT TRUST!!!! I would give 0 stars if possible This garage/mechanics who mot tested my car is either negligent or Deceitful fraudulent Crooks. I’m a single mother and they failed my car on numerous things which two other garages confirmed were not fails. They also totally over quoted me which made me. Thankfully as it prompted me to take it elsewhere. The parts they failed me on cane to under £200 and they wanted to charge me over £800 for parts and work. As the car failed the parts were orders and work was carried out on the faults. It wasn’t until the car was taken apart that the mechanic saw the parts were fine. So I had the discs atleast to Show other garages for advice. I thought it was just the old days when garages took advantage of women car owners. Clearly not. I approached the garage and sent images and there was no denying the parts were in actual fact fine. Just childish responses such as we never invoiced you for the work. We didn’t do the work. They know full well they tried to con me and as a result I had to have the work done. Luckily it cost me £450 els where. But should only have cost me £100 had they not negligently or more likely fraudulently failed my car on parts that were confirmed by numerous garages as not a fail. DO NOT TRUST THIS GARAGE.

I called and asked to have my car fixed as there was something loose and rattling underneath the car. The guys Fixed it up in no time and did not charge me as it was such an easy fix! Other garages I doubt would have been so honest and generous. Will definitely be back when something more serious happens.
