TL;DR - Sloppy, rude, incompetent. Go anywhere else Had an MOT done here, which failed, so I went home and started to look for a mechanic to book repairs. Having not touched the car for a few days, I went to open my car to head over to the mechanic , but whoever did my MOT test left the parking lights on, meaning that my car battery is now drained and I’ve had to rearrange the mechanic as I now need to sort out the battery. This has been a massive inconvenience for me and sure, maybe I’m naive and should’ve noticed that they left the parking lights on but I don’t feel like I, as a customer, should really be having to check this after an MOT. Just as a follow-up I called them, explaining what happened asking if they'd be willing to come 2 minutes down the road to help me jump start the car to check if the battery is completely drained and that it was a little negligent of them to leave the parking light on. I was met by "Any normal person would check their lights", before hanging up. I'd strongly argue that after a professional work, its reasonable to expect that the car is in the same state that I left it to them in i.e. parking lights off. Furthermore, they didn't even shut the bonnet properly when they returned me the car, a detail I missed out previously as frankly it is minor as I live just down the road, but it just once again demonstrates a pattern of sloppiness and neglect. If I had lived further, this would've been a critical safety issue had I not noticed. Absolutely terrible mechanic with a terrible attitude. Would highly recommend you steer clear.

Needed a small but major defect repaired for MOT fail as car essential. House understood urgency and let us come in straight away. Car was sorted within 2 hours and MOT passed that afternoon. Great service, reasonable price; very happy.

I had a really disappointing experience with House Autos. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was rude and unwelcoming. I got the impression that they were negative and uninterested in fixing my car. After dropping it off, I had to take two buses home, only for them to call me an hour later to say they wouldn’t fix the issue. Instead, they told me I’d need to buy a whole new steering rack. The whole experience felt like a complete waste of time. I won't be going back.

Firstly I never feel compelled to complain about anything, but this recent MOT really got my back up. Failed on two tyres and a handbrake. The two tyres. Advisory’s we’re also given for bits that had been done way before my ownership and never highlighted (windscreen and wheel weld repair). For the tyres I questioned this because where I’d had my tracking done they said the tyres would still pass. I also got a 2nd opinion from bathwick tyres who said they were fine (ps5 michelins). A advisory tops. Went for the re-test again everyone was miserable as per. I was charged the full hour for the handbrake adjustment, which feels exactly the same as it did before. I feel mugged off frankly. I couldn’t recommend this place less. Save yourself the hassle and don’t bother

This place has just lost yet another customer. Every question is met with either an eye roll or a sigh, they seem to just absolutely despise the people who use their services. Unsmiling and unfriendly. As soon as I arrived to drop my car, was told that a lift into town (literally 2 mins drive) wasn’t possible cos they were understaffed, said that my knee was killing me due to arthritis. Blank expression in return. I’ve been using this place for 10 years and it’s always been a bit half-baked. Not no more.

The good: they took a look at my car the same day when brakes not working properly. The bad: quoted repair without VAT, and charged £90 for brake fluid replacement. Quite a bit more expensive than other places. It didn’t fix the problem (not their fault to be fair) but no real sense of customer care or explanation. Wouldn’t go back personally.

Two times I have failed my MOT and they have said they cannot repair the car due to lack of tools. Disappointed. Will never come again here.

AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!!! I would not recommend this garage for anything. Their telephone manners are awful and rude. They failed our vehicle twice after all work had been carried out and more as put on mot fail sheet only for them to try and fail it for a third time on something not mention on orginal mot sheet ,

Very disappointed with this small garage who quoted me the price of my new lights the day before fitting at £12 each and after they had changed the lights and had done the work told me they were £26.91 each. When I questioned the price and reminded the chap that he quoted me £12 each the day before he said he has quoted £15- £20 which is a lie, he then said he could take them out if I wanted after I had waiting the 30 mins. He then said he has only charged £10+ the vat for fitting them. I paid the £76.58 for 2 light bulbs but I shall never use them again. I just don't like the dishonesty be careful if you think about going here
