I would give these idiots zero if I could went in because of a noise coming from my front wheel, they stuck it on the ramp, told me it was the wheel bearing and give me a quote of over £300 but said it was safe to drive, 20 minutes later my wheel came off causing a massive amount of damage to my Jeep. But these idiots denied they were at fault saying I should have left the car with them. I asked them if the car was safe to drive before I left and they said yes! So just before my wheel came off, I called a car parts company and ordered the parts. When I went in and told them what happened he went straight in to bottom covering mode, not worrying that I could have been killed or injured, or worse caused a massive accident. I asked what they were going to do about it they became hostile and all covered each others backs and denied they ever said it was safe to drive. So I asked how he came to the conclusion it was the wheel bearing? "Well you start there" surely you start by checking properly, and to do that you would take the wheel off? Then they would have discovered the noise was actually coming from the wheel coming loose. They could have caused a massive, fatal accident and couldn't care less, luckily I pulled over just as it came off. I will be contacting Trading Standards. These cowboys shouldn't be allowed near anyone's car ever again. If you need a good mechanic, who knows what he is doing, call Chris at CARS in Camerton he is about half the price and he is probably the best mechanic in the Bath area. As for Locksbrook garage, give them a miss, not only did they miss the obvious and miss diagnose the problem, they denied any liability leaving me a bill of over £800 for a new wheel and tyre, new wing and respray, recovery and me ordering the parts they told me to get, that I didn't need! Disgraceful!

Car was booked in for a coil spring change, my clutch master cylinder went by coincidence so had a guy recover it to them, so far so good... After picking it up after repair there was a grinding straight out of the car park. They managed to knacker the wheel bearing during changing the coil spring, causing me a breakdown :( brought it back to them hoping they would fix it for free but they said it was a coincidence... well it wasn't broken when it went in. So after picking it up second time around there was a loud rattle coming from the same wheel again! Jacked it up and found the ABS sensor cable rubbing on the wheel (pictured) and a large metal hook (pictured) left hanging from the coil! It could have easily gone into the tire. The sensor seems to have been routed differently as now the wheel strut pulls it out of its bracket every time you turn left so I had to cable tie it. Later I found the new clutch master cylinder wobbling loose. Both fasteners are supposed to be done up to 8Nm but both span a full turn before being nipped and a bit more until my torque wrench clicked. Not recommended as they seem to do more damage than good and leave your vehicle in a potentially dangerous state.

My partner & I have used Locksbrook Garage for many years and have always found Andy and team to be friendly, honest and reliable. Regrettably it's no longer practical for us to use Locksbrook as we've moved house but would definitely recommend this garage to others.
