Heard the hype about this place for a long time and I can absolutely confirm that it lived up to expectations. Great variety of dishes, packed full of flavour and fairly priced. Great to hear they change the menu up regularly, will absolutely return.

This was our first night out post pregnancy and having a kid at we were determined to kick the arse out of it. The wine selection was great, the different dishes we tried were all excellent. It's a modern restaurant that's got up to date decor, and although we had an early table on a Tuesday, it picked up a great deal as the night went on. The service was good, the food was delicious. We're really glad we came here for dinner and will definitely be back.

Great place. Lovely vibes. Went for date night and we were very pleased with the service, always on the ball, we were never left waiting for two long. The girls made sure to check in as soon as we finished a plate or a glass of wine. Lovely wine selection. Tried some whites, orange, couple of reds. All brilliant. The dishes were also amazing. We ended up eating so much, special shout out to the chicken bao bun, and the veg kebab. We also tried the rump steak, scallops, dirty fries. And the blueberry dessert and peanut one. Every one of them was delicious. Will definitely be going back. Thank you to the two ladies who looked after us.

Dishes were all decent without having the wow factor. For the price we just felt it should be a level above. Portion sizes were good and service friendly but just missed the mark slightly with some dishes.

I've been here a few times and in my opinion this is the best small plates restaurant in Glasgow. Their menu changes every few months, so there's always something new to try. The food is always great quality, delicious, and the presentation is great. The prices are reasonable for the quality and variety of products used and the techniques in preparing the dishes. The wine and beer choices are also good and there's some variety. Normally they recommend 2-3 dishes per person, which is plenty to fill up. The bread starter is always great and the butter that comes with it changes all the time. The desserts I have tried have also all been great. Overall, I definitely recommend this place, and it's worth visiting more than once. The pictures in the review are from the menu available May 2025.

Highly recommend The Dapper Mongoose. 10/10 and will definitely be going back! Amazing little hole in the wall in the Southside. Small plates concept, but the portions are generous and every dish we had was outstanding! Their menu changes every 6 weeks to what is best/seasonal and I can honestly say that everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Enjoyed the Sourdough with Chicken Liver Parfait and Paris Butter, Scallop of the Day with Crayfish, Crab Cakes with Saffron Hollandaise, Hot & Sour Hake and Prawns, Pork Cheek Pappardelle, Braised Beef Shin, Pistachio CrΓ¨me BrΓ»lΓ©e, and Warm Chocolate Tart. All were perfectly cooked, well presented, and above all, extremely tasty! Itβs not a big restaurant but has a very warm and cosy feel to it, and a beautiful wine bar. The wine menu is also very good and reasonably priced. Already booked our next table, and recommend to any foodie looking for a really good variety of some stellar quality food!

Went for a rare child free birthday dinner and had such a wonderful time. Love the ambience, the staff are so friendly and the food and drink are incredible. We especially liked the sourdough with chicken liver parfait, scallops, and the masala hake. Oh and the espresso martini!

Staff was very nice and know the menu and ingredients very well. Food was cooked professionally and every plate is decorated with care. Review for each menu: 1. Haddock - nice portion and well cooked. I find it a bit bland, but my partner loved it. 2. Duck leg - SOFTEST duck leg Iβve ever had. The skin just slid right off and the meat was juicy and tender, but not falling apart like itβs overcooked. 3. Scallop - at first I thought Β£6.5 for one scallop was a bit pricy, but turns out it was so worth it. Iβm a big fan of scallops and have been disappointed a lot by other places, but not here. The scallop was fresh and just perfectly cooked - not rubbery and burnt and not uncooked inside. The sauce and cucumber bits goes so nicely with it. 4. Chicken karage - my absolute favorite from this place. Chicken was super tender and not coated in thick batter. There was a lot of meat on the chicken bites. The soy sauce dip with egg yolk was unexpected, but goes so nicely with the chicken. 5. Sourdough with chicken liver parfait and butter with bacon and hazelnut bits - the bread was warm and had crusty and slightly salty side and was delicious. I love the butter with the bacon bits which adds a savory and lightly salted taste to it. The hazelnut bits are not hard or uncomfortable to chew as I expected. Butter was thick and creamy and didnβt melt at all. Overall, I would definitely be back to try out the rest of their menu βΊοΈ

Really enjoyed The Dapper Mongoose every dish we tried was brilliant, particular mentions to the sourdough with chicken liver parfait and saffron butter, the citrus cured cod with wasabi cream, the tempura broccoli and the chicken thigh special with morcilla mousse. It's a small menu but there's a good mix of dishes the portions are generous and the price is fair. The staff are bang on and the cocktails are also good can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

Extremely bloody good! If I'm honest I wasn't expecting much from this place, I only ever remember it as a bike shop but my my was I pleasantly surprised. Small menu but each dish (we had nearly half the menu) was full of flavour and delishious, especially the Lamb. Dishes come out as and when they are cooked by excellent serving staff who're friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. The menu apparently changes frequently and there are also daily specials. I will return.
