Always enjoyed Cramond. It's especially pretty in autumn if the weather is mild and tame. Good walkways and a treasure of shells and rocks along the beach. Summer time it can be a bit smelly and I wouldn't recommend going in the water but definitely nice for a walk for some scenic nourishment and fresh air.
Wonderful beach with many happy memories made here over the years with my sadly missed shins inu, family and friends. Great for a walk, a little history of the beach and islands. I love that you can walk over to crammond island during low tide. However be sure to check tide times so you don’t get stranded on the island. I think a great safety feature would be for the council to install a warning siren on the island to ensure that people get back across - especially foreign travellers who may not be able to translate/understand the signs. A great wooden walkway over the marsh area is also lovely to be able to allow walkers, buggies or people with walking difficulties to get over and across to the sand and waters edge. The large wide pathway that runs the entirety of the beach is wonderful for disabled enjoyment whether in a wheelchair or assisted vehicle. Great place for runners, mum’s with buggies, cyclists and everyone in between. The harbour area is picturesque and the added bonus of public toilets, a local pub and a little ice cream van that does tasty biscoff sprinkled ice creams! Fantastic place. I went because of the WW2 fortifications on it (plus the causeway) after visiting inchcolm island for the Fortifications also, and a bonus the weather was amazing! (CHECK THE TIDE TIMINGS BEFORE GOING) Have enclosed photo of tide timings on last photo, but you can also find it online, otherwise it will be a long night waiting for the tide to go back out..
Amazing island to walk out to at low tide. (I like to arrive 2 hours before low tide to give plenty time to cross and wander at a slow pace round the wartime batteries. The anti submarine structure is an interesting sight too
Lovely area to walk or cycle. Good flat wide tarmac paths with optional grass paths to the side, which are good for dog walks. It's a shame the cafe at the mid point of walk when going east was closed. Toilets at Cramond seemed to be open for females only. At the far end going east, it became very untidy too much litter and evidence of bonfires. Good free parking at Cramond. Nice cafe at Cramond opposite the river and the boats.
Cramond beach is one of the best places for a wee scape. It only takes about 20 minutes to get there with the bus 26 from the city center. A nice walk in nature and fantastic views of Fife with the island in between, where you can go walking depending of the tides . Beautiful sunsets, and if you follow the river, you can find the waterfalls within 10 minutes. Highly recommended to give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
Amazing place to go for a walk up the long causeway to Cramond island while the tide is low. We walked it while the tide was only inches below the walkway. The timings of the tide are mentioned specially by date and time so it's really safe. The beach itself is vast and we only had a handful of people there. Well worth a 3hrs to half a day stay.
Great spot for a walk, run or cycle year-round... Really shines in warmer months with pub and cafes nearby. Great views of the Forth and nice safe and wide path for cycling and running. Some hidden gems worth exploring for too!
A nice, long walk with beautiful scenery. Double check online for the tide information if you wish to walk to Cramond Island otherwise you can’t get across or get back. There’s public toilets free to use and a couple of cafes and ice cream vans (depending on time)
Came here to walk over to Cramond Island. Free car park. Can imagine it gets very busy in the summer months. Worth visiting and walking over though. Just double check tide times.
