They were friendly and responsive and were consistently one step ahead of the buyer's solicitors. Their communication was great during the exchange and completion process, which made it all much less stressful.    Used Thackery Williams for our house purchase. Kevin and Laura headed up our purchase and we’re very friendly and knowledgeable. We were encouraged to go with another solicitor by the bank which honestly just waited our time and delayed the completion. We’re so glad we paid the extra money and went with Thackery Williams. Would certainly use them again.

   These are our buyers solicitors. After three weeks of constant chasing from our buyer, our estate agent, our solicitor and our next properties estate agent TW has ignored every single communication. We are on a tight turn around and just outright ignoring all communications is simply not acceptable!

   Buying a flat in London is difficult enough in 2021. With changing regulations, cladding certificates, COVID considerations etc. Unfortunately, the process can be made far more difficult by a lawyer who: you can't get a hold of; doesn't appear to know any specifics about your case even seconds after being reminded of them; misspells important sections of the contract you've been waiting months for. On a positive note: buyer and seller alike can find common ground in their pitiful experience with your lawyer, the resulting conversations of mutual exasperation can provide a bonding experience to mellow tense negotiations. Your wider family and friends, like mine, may also add the term 'Kevin Gauntlett' to their vocabulary, and begin using it as a verb in its own right in colloquial conversation: e.g. "sorry for Kevin Gauntlett-ing you like that". Thackray Williams used to be an exemplary solicitors, indeed it may still be, but if you find yourself picking up /this/ gauntlet, prepare yourself to be billed for a long journey of frustration.
