I am writing this to express my deep frustration with the appalling service and lack of coordination at the Princess Royal Maternity Hospital, Glasgow. I had my first maternity scan scheduled for December 24th, but since I was traveling out of state, I called the provided number well in advance to reschedule. A staff member over the phone explicitly told me I could come on the 23rd at the same time. However, when I arrived on the 23rd, the department told me there was no appointment and I had to come back the next day. When I called the lady I had spoken to previously, she continued to provide false information. She told me to go to the "Main Reception," but when I arrived there, staff informed me there is no such thing as a "Main Reception" for that area. She then told me to go to the "Ultrasound Department on the Ground Level," even though the ultrasound department is actually on the second floor with the Maternity department. When I eventually asked how I could provide feedback on this confusing and stressful experience, the staff member was incredibly rude and told me I should simply "cancel my trip and attend tomorrow." It is completely unacceptable to "make a fool" of pregnant women who are in need of care. The misinformation and lack of empathy shown today were shocking. The person responsible for managing these appointments and speaking to patients in this manner needs to be held accountable. This caused unnecessary physical and emotional distress during what should be a happy time.

Thank you to all members of the maternity team, thank you to all the midwives, the doctors and helpers who have been amazing with us. It made the entire pregnancy and baby delivery so much easier. You all have been so supportive and patient. Amazing staff. I would like to thank more particularly midwife Erin for her kind words when our baby wasn't well.

I had both of my babies here within the last two years and wanted to leave a review as I also looked for comfort and information of what to expect from the PRM. I had Consultant led care throughout, regular clinics and scans. One natural delivery, one planned C-section. Both completely different experiences but I was given excellent care from all staff from the sonographers to consultants, midwives and care nurses. Post-birth I didn’t feel a nuisance in asking for help or advice and was regularly checked on. Like all other hospitals they are under immense pressure and challenges, but I always felt listened to, safe and comfortable and opted to have my second child here over the other two Glasgow hospitals. Even the food on the ward was good!

I am from Ayrshire and was referred to PR maternity and they literally saved me and my babies life. Dr Bradnock & Dr McMillan performed a 5 hour surgery on me due to placenta previa and other complications. From the get go they were honest & comforting & made me laugh. I trusted them and the amazing anaesthetist with the moustache and gynaecologist David was amazing I’ve never felt more safe and taken care of in my whole life. Me and my premature 4lb baby was discharged 5 days later after 2 in high dependency. Amazing midwives too. Would never fault this hospital.

I had a wonderful experience with the staff and everything else from start to finish when I had my baby 4 years ago. I'm expecting again and I don't need to think twice before choosing to have my antenatal appointments there again. All the midwifes I had the pleasure to meet there were brilliant, professional and caring. Excellent service

From the reception started professional work and care until the end of the next person you meet, they are remarkable and smart and hard working team . I like their team work, even as individuals they perform well day and night. I had my first child last year and my second this year. I can not thank them enough for their efforts that they gave me, all the care needed. Thank you Princess Royal maternity !

I was treated here due to unfortunate miscarriage last year. I was sent to the A&E after 3 hours bleeding non stop waiting for an ambulance to arrive. Almost die. Though the hospital was understaffed at that time, the medical team there were very positive, proactive and attentive. They helped save my life and not enough words to express how grateful i am.

I would highly recommend the Princess Royal Maternity. I have given birth here 9 years ago to my little girl and just recently December 2021 to my little boy. The care that myself and my babies received during our time at the Maternity hospital was outstanding. All the staff that looked after myself and my babies where Angles and I truly can't thank them all enough for the care that we received. I also found the hospital and Maternity ward very clean and the staff took pride in ensuring that the cleaning was done to a high standard.
