I had my hair done for my sons wedding. I do not come from Bath, so I knew nothing about this hairdresser's but the result deserves 5/5. I was incredibly pleased with the result and received many compliments about it. I would definitely recommend.
I love this salon! David is an expert stylist and he always "listens" to me (as the client) regarding what I would like done to my short tresses. I always feel better when leaving than when I arrive - all staff are friendly, and there are the bonuses of great coffee, a pastry (or piece of watermelon if it is hot outside!) as well as the option of a massage chair during hair washing AND a head massage with the conditioner... I mean, what's not to like here?!
My experience with David Maxwell has been variable. The first time I came I got an amazing service by the most junior member of the team. My hair looked voluminous and bouncy. Poor guy had to put in a lot of work to get it there. I went back, impressed with the service and it so happened that the second time I had the man himself and it was a true disappointment. He didn't really put in the effort. I admit I have a lot of hair which requires more effort than average to style. My hair looked completely limp and flat once he finished with it. So, I wouldn't recommend paying David's rates, a more junior and diligent person will do a better job.
What a wonderful referral by a caring friend! After a traumatic experience 3 months ago my hair thinned dramatically. David has expertly re-styled my hair and given it the lift it used to have. As a result he has a dedicated new client - it should be noted that his team are exceptionally friendly too.

He also gives very practical advise as to how to maintain hair and styling tips which suit a hectic lifestyle.
