   Staff are all very friendly. Jim has over 40 years of knowledge and never fails to amaze me how much he knows about keeping fish. Always a nice selection of fish on offer and if what I want is not available Jim will always try and get the fish in for me.

   They have an aquarium downstairs which you can easily spend half an hour walking around. They are very friendly and helpful. And I also believe Its one of the oldest pet fish shops in Scotland. Very knowledgeable father and son owned shop.

   Great shop. Great staff that will sit and have a chat about what you want and help you pick fish and kit to get there. And if you have the time a free cup of tea. Not the place if you want in and out in 1 min. But then why go to a shop with real staff if that's all you want. Not the biggest selection of fish but they are healthy.

   I cannot recommend M & R Dogfish highly enough. I contacted them on Facebook about a problem I was stumped with - a mould which was growing in my fish tank. Within minutes I had an answer from them and we chatted for ages until I understood the problem. I was also changing to an external filter, which I had no experience with. Again within a very short time I understood everything I needed to know about this and M & R had a filter in stock which fitted the bill. I arranged to collect it from them and while I was there they stripped the filter down and showed me how to set it up and maintain it. Not only that, they gave me some gravel for my tank too! They are extremely knowledgeable, with oodles of experience and they are not happy until you understand the problem and solution. If you have an aquarium problem contact M & R, they'll sort it out for you. Again I cannot recommend them highly enough and they will be my one (and only) stop if I have any future problems with my fish, tank or equipment. Thanks guys!!

   My dad went into shop for advice re my sick goldfish, very helpful owner tested the water sample my dad had with him, ammonia levels were sky high, got some advice and some 'medicine', was very helpful when i phoned a few days later for some more info, wasn't any trouble for owner and most pleasant. Definitely will be going back and would also recommend to anyone :-)
