Iβve been living in the area for over two years, and Hugoβs on North Street has become one of my go-to spots. The quality of the fresh, seasonal produce is consistently excellent β the strawberries and tomatoes this summer have been especially delicious! Beyond fruit and veg, they also stock a fantastic selection of cured meats, high-end cheeses, and imported pantry staples that really elevate a special meal. Whether you're planning a standout dinner or just want to eat more healthily day-to-day, Hugoβs is a real gem. Highly recommend!

Really disappointed. There's usually such a lovely flower selection, but the bouquet I bought was overpriced and had very poor quality. On top of that the customer service was awful.

The staff are lovely however that is where the positives end. Eg: A Too Good To Go box, which yes is things that needed to sell that day and haven't so you expect a lower standard, but should be too good to be binned - this box was split, completely wilted, rotting produce which should have been binned throughout the day. It concerns me what is going on in the day to day activity to try and increase profit with a lack of concern for what's going out.

Iβm sorry to say that it is the messiest shop on North St and spreads itself out on to the pavement and multiple parking spaces daily. A real eye sore and awkward to navigate past with a pushchair. I would not buy food and eat what I had seen on the floor and in the road, especially at those prices. The owner is parked up on double yellows and their shop van or hire van can be seen taking up multiple spaces while they spend hours allegedly unloading. As a local I see it as a real let down on the surrounding shops. Imagine if all the shops spilled out in this way it would be chaos!

I love the product quality, a bit overpriced comparing to Tobacco Factory shop or Better Foodo but well, you can also find different things at Hugo's. BUT Every time I buy there, really, ALWAYS, I am charged more than the labels mark, and as example today: I needed tomato for cooking, the beef tomatoes were ripe but the price Β£4'50 kg, so all good then, I picked a big one. When I went to pay I was pending on the grams for my previous experience. The tomato was around 300grams and they guys said that it was Β£2'5.. I said, but the label marks Β£4'50, why is Β£2'5? Is answer was: 'oh sorry, I forgot to put the label for those tomatoes, that price is for the tomatoes next to beef ones'. The label said 'Beef tomatoes'!! Come one! You think people are silly and don't know what is a beef tomato? Is upsetting what they do.. because the fruits and vegs are good but doing these things...

The shop and people who work there are lovely but the quality of the food was abysmal. I got a too good to go bag which was supposed to be the food they had not sold that day. (i.e. they could have sold ot yesterday). They could not. The pac choi, amd lemon were putrifying, the raspberries and strawberries had fungus on them, the pears (3) were battered to death. There was one tiny carrot., one manky potato , half a battered mushroom and a skinny corgette (at least I think that is what it was ) which had seen better days. The idea of the site is to save food from being wasted, not to pass on food so someone else can throw it out. Pity no-one appears to have told the staff at Hugo's that.

I chose a magic box of food from the too good to go app and the produce I wasn't given in the box was mostly rotten or had magets in the apples. I expected to have slightly bruised fruit and vegetables but what I received I had to throw away. It cost Β£2.80 which wasn't much for a produce box of food I can eat but the produce was definitely something that should have been thrown away.

A lovely fruit 'n' veg (and more) shop. Friendly staff, and most importantly some very nice produce. A good variety of bright, fresh fruit and veg. A small selection of cheeses, and as a bonus they had some tasty cannoli. Also, the shop looks cool. 5/5, would Hugo's again.

Such a great shop. The veg is top notch however, itβs the other produce they stock that I find interesting. From Nonaβs passata to an amazing selection of cheese. I always leave having bought more than I went in for.
