    The store staff seem to be there as a punishment. In addition to the post office, there is theoretically a place in the store where you can send a package when the post office is closed. Unfortunately, very often it’s not possible to send a package because there's no one who knows how to do it, and the staff blatantly lie. I do not recommend this place. If you're hiring staff, at least train them for their duties.

    Rude staff, older lady in there shouting the odds at someone telling them she had just lost her parents. Customer was polite throughout despite the cashiers ongoing apparent errors or inability to use her till properly! She then had the cheek to slate him verbally as he gave up. At no point did the customer show any rudeness or anger despite her flapping and snapping at him throughout. He finally spoke up was when she was abusing him for not buying the items. Just plain rude! Wouldn’t have left this review but this same lady was subsequently rude to other customers as well as me and seemed to be backed up by an equally inept colleague who seemed to defend her actions. I have left it a few days having given her the benefit of the doubt but went in today and saw her being rude yet again to some poor woman! If that’s how you treat customers then it’s any wonder any of you still have jobs. Won’t be returning and will go elsewhere in future. As someone who knew when to retire himself I can only vouch for the benefits to this lady who needs to rethink her career and how she speaks to people as she was clearly in the wrong.

    Staff at the tills are rude and grunt at you rather than just say hello. What a nuisance it must be to have customers! Needs a refit as decor is dated but it is quite well stocked and the post office staff are fabulous.

    great small newsagent on the oldmixon estate. near the main winterstoke road. parking from winterstoke road end or aller parade end. theres a post office within this store. McCalls sell lots of stuff. newspapers. magazines. lots of sweets. crisps. tinned goods. fridge stuff like cheese. milk. meats. lots of drinks. cans. bottles. alcohol. frozen items too. chips. meats. ice cream. cigerette items inc filters and papers. scratch cards. parments cash or card. friendly staff. i have found theres one lady at the post office counter who can be hard work. but otherwise great small shop. theres a local tesco express very close by which is cheaper.

    Very pleased with my visits to the shop, anytime I pop in the staff are friendly and very helpful specially with having mobility problems. Was having some issues with 2 of my boys and when I phone the Gentleman on the line was very understanding and very helpful and had a very good manner about him .
