“Great selection of very good quality of wines; outstanding service and all very reasonably priced. I simply can’t recommend highly enough! Six stars!!!”
“What a great little gem of a place, south of the river. Alpha is run by a fantastic friendly team and the selection of beers is excellent.”
“Do you like artisan cheese and meats? Do you like small batch craft beer? If yes to either of these then you need to visit this place. One the finest selection of amazing cheeses and meats that you can take away, or have turned into the best toastie I've ever tasted. Wash it down a bottle or can of craft beer from their well stocked fridges. They have small batch, hard to get hold of craft beers that go perfectly with the food they serve. Excellent owners who are knowledgeable, friendly and make you feel very welcome. Amazing place.”
“Excellent selection of wines, friendly knowledgeable staff - although we did not eat, could see the chef producing top rate plates on a kit worthy of a Dutch Brown Bar. Honestly so glad found this by accident, will be a definite visit every time I am Bristol ..: Ps Dow’s Port worth a finish this any meal here!”

Situated in the picturesque Abbey Green area of Bath, The Cork and Truckle is a charming specialty store focusing on fine wines and artisan cheeses. The shop offers a welcoming destination for culinary enthusiasts and visitors eager to sample regional English produce. Interactive tasting sessions pairing select English wines with complementary artisanal cheeses are hosted in a cozy historic cellar setting. Retail offerings include a rich variety of naturally smoked and traditional cheeses alongside artisanal dried sausages and charcuterie accompaniments.
“The gentleman who helped us select some local beers was very helpful and patient while we picked. Some very interesting findings!”
“Great stock. Selection of many German beers and local stuff too. Nice place to sit if you don't wanna fight for a seat on kings street. Staff friendly ✅ Great prices. Why go to a commercial pub”
“Absolutely love this shop, it's the best, wouldn't go anywhere else. They are so friendly welcoming and always happy to help with anything. So much variety to choose from. Thank you”
“Went in looking for Ouzo, but they didnt have any. The staff went on their stockists website and found the brand I was looking for and Ordered it in for me. 2 days later It arrived in store. Great Service, many thanks..... Yiamas :)”
“Had a lovely couple of Ghibli (we’re Ghibli fans) themed drinks. I had an Arrietty (reminded me of my own garden in summer and the cup and saucer it was served in gave it a dainty feel) and my partner had a No Face cocktail served in a clay pot which caused a really interesting discussion about depth of flavour / character. Service was attentive and very welcoming.”
“Really enjoyed our dinner here, lovely wine with a great selection and they spoke us through each choice. Great French food, I’d highly recommend”
“Fantastic wine, and the atmosphere feels like being invited into someone's home. Very personal and friendly.”
“Came here a few times and it’s a great crafty place! Good selection on keg and a good fridge full for everything else! Lovely chilled out atmosphere… highly recommend”
“Excellent service. Ordered two champagne bottles for friends and both arrived on time. For one of the orders we put down the wrong address and had to quickly send an email to the team to get the address updated. Sparkling Direct replied really quickly and made sure the address was changed and went to the right place. Thank you so much, we had two very happy friends.”
“Popped in as we have always wanted to see what the place was like and sample some new drinks It did not disappoint, large array of drinks and the bar staff and Dan helped with choices with their fantastic knowledge of what was available Great atmosphere, no loud music, just the sound of conversation and a comfortable place to enjoy time out. Not bad on prices and very clean and tidy. I would recommend going early if you want a table as it is very popular. We will definitely be going again”
“On my way to Celtic manor I stopped in for breakfast. They have and excellent selection of breakfast and brunch items. It was delicious and the service and atmosphere was pleasant. I would believe there pizzas are great too based on the wood fire oven. Definitely would recommend”
“The place to come if you want to drink an espresso while sitting on a swing (though those 2 tables tend to be the most popular). A bit too small to get the laptop out, but perfect place to meet friends and have a catch up. Good selection of boardgames too!”
“Great selection of local beers and ciders. Quality wines. The good quality beverages here make v good gifts. Sell their own beers too, with seasonal varieties. As an aside, the shop is also a parcel collection point (DPD etc) and being an off license it is conveniently open in the evening.”
