“I just stopped into this lovely shop on my visit to Nottingham. I bought a bottle of Harris Gin for my wife since you cannot get it in the states. Then I did a whiskey tasting with the very knowledgeable staff. I told them the types of whiskey I like and we preceded to spend 45 minutes sampling and discussing about 10 different bottles. I ended up purchasing three bottles plus the gin. One from a small batch local distillery. They never rushed or pressured us into buying anything. I highly recommend this charming shop for its excellent staff and wide selection. Price points for everyone.”

“I was gifted a wine tasting experience for two at Taste First. My husband and I attended and we have both come away saying how brilliant it was! James was particularly accommodating and even though we are wine novices he made us feel very welcome. James has a chat with you before hand, to get an understanding of the type of wines you like, he then adapts the tasting to suit! He makes a real effort not to just give you your ‘go to’ wine, but gives you options that are similar but something you wouldn’t usually try. The place has a lovely atmosphere and whether it was new or regular customers coming in, James was a great host to all! The deli board from Cleo’s was delicious too! Another nice touch is the candles that they sell (they smell so good!) using the empty wine bottles. Thank you for a lovely time, we will certainly be back”
