I went in for some wine for a Christmas gift. As a non drinker, I am pretty clueless on wine. The staff were really helpful and knowledgeable and helped me get a selection of wine within my budget. Great service and good to support a local, independent business.
I was in search of a bottle Pedro Ximenez sherry which I had planned to use in an Old Fashioned - game changer No:1. Anyway, the guy in the store was kind enough to give me a taster and advised me to mix a tablespoon of this gorgeous sweet wine into some vanilla ice cream - game changer No:2. I took it one step further and added some espresso - game changer No:3. I urge you to treat ya’sen and get down to Weavers of Nottingham this weekend and try this one out.
The wine tasting and cellar events are excellent and great value for money. The venues are always interesting (Bromley House Library, Nottm Contemporary and, especially, the cellars at the shop). Philip Trease is a really charming, informative, generous and funny host. A great crowd attend, the wines are first rate and might change your ideas about what you like and don’t like. There is always a value option although they are all keenly priced for the quality. So if you like wine but don’t like snobbery this is the place to come to enjoy all the pleasure of wine, learn something and enjoy convivial company. Surely one of the best nights out in Notts for the money.
My favourite wine merchant. I have been in the Wine Club for about 5 years. I get a wide range of interesting wines and it is easy the change my subscription regarding regularity and content. Aside from the club, the range of wines is outstanding and I usually add a few choice additions to my delivery. They have always been very flexible and accommodating.
Was such a lovely experience for us to meet one of the shop owners and get to talk about wines with him, to learn about their family business and to be so welcomed. We are not from UK but we will definitely know where to get every single bottle to gift to our relatives anytime we need. I've visited Weavers 3 times over the last few years. Every time, I've been served by a different member of staff, and every time it's been a wonderful experience. Friendly, knowledgeable people who are genuinely passionate about wine.
Really helpful independent Nottingham business. Weavers supply our bar, and from helping to choose correct products, to processing and delivering orders they offer excellent customer service. They are reducing pollution by delivering with zero emissions vehicles.
What a fantastic service! Great advice on everything I was looking for (and more ;)). Went in for a few bottles to take on our holiday next month, and left with a few more! Advice was spectacular. I can not remember the last time I walked out of a shop and thought WOW! This was definitely a WOW moment. A great warm and friendly welcome and a great walk and talk through of selections that suit my taste buds. Think I will actually start a little wine book now, so I can remember my favourites, as I for sure will now be popping in more often, even for those weekend delights. Within half an hour, I for sure learnt that this shop stocks not only specialities, but some great wines for any occasion, including your weekend tipple. Most likely be back even this week for my weekend selection. Thank you! For sure you have gained a customer who does not actually live locally, but is now even more excited about her new office location as it is just up the road from my new favourite shop!
