Having bought wines online from here for a while, I visited in person for the first time for a late lunch today... OUTSTANDING! I went for the set menu. A lovely salad to start, which went well with a glass of a white wine from Bierzo, and then a superbly executed chicken in Vin Jaune, with a glass of a Jura Chardonnay. The wine selection here is fantastic, from legendary Burgundy producers like PYCM to wines from areas slightly more off the beaten track like Jura, Bierzo, the Swartland, ...

I usually come here once a month to buy a bottle or 2 and most of the time it’s a very pleasant experience! There’s a younger guy who works here, really knows his stuff, very personable and just great energy when he’s engaging with you ! You can tell he’s got some serious passion about wine. However, the older gentleman who works here is a very different experience for me personally. Quite stand off ish, no real help with bottles except year and region, doesn’t smile or engage with you deeply and seems far more transactional than the other person who works here. The wines always great and I keep going back for it but for me it’s that staff member who keeps me coming back. Can’t comment on the food as I haven’t had it but it looks great !

Excellent selection of wines, friendly knowledgeable staff - although we did not eat, could see the chef producing top rate plates on a kit worthy of a Dutch Brown Bar. Honestly so glad found this by accident, will be a definite visit every time I am Bristol ..: Ps Dow’s Port worth a finish this any meal here!

Wonderful wine bar with incredibly knowledgeable staff. The wines were great, and there is a huge selection, and the cheese board was absolutely lovely.

Great service. Wanted a mixed case as a gift for a friend in Bristol. As they had no “pre picked” mixed cases, Joe kindly emailed me suggestions based upon a set budget and preferences. Wine was delivered the next day to a very grateful friend and by a very polite courier (or possibly staff member?). Shame I don’t live nearby or I’d be a regular customer. Thank you!

Rude. When it first opened was met with friendly and informative staff. Visited a couple weeks ago and just today. Bloke couldn’t have been more disinterested. Not exactly The cheapest place for wine and cheeses so won’t be returning

The sandwiches are incredible! I’ve eaten here the past few days and tried the different sandwiches on offer. My favourite is the meatball (pictured). CAVE is tastefully decorated with a wood/industrial style and stocks a fantastic selection of cheese and wine which are two of my favourite things. I recommend lunch or popping in for a wine consultation ;) the owner seems to know a lot about wine…
