A beautiful place for a family day out! The large loch is perfect for a peaceful walk, and there’s plenty of open space for picnics and play. The kids loved the playground and running around the open space. Well maintained, clean, and with free parking.

Lovely place for a wee walk! The cafe was closed when I visited it and didn’t use any facilities but the park itself is beautiful!

Perfect place for a flat, easy run or a walk with the family. Nice short route. Geese, swans and ducks around so the paths have poo on them, very clean otherwise. Usually quite busy with runners, walkers and families.

James Hamilton Heritage Park in Glasgow is a fantastic spot for both relaxation and outdoor activities. The park’s centerpiece is its large, scenic loch, which is perfect for a peaceful stroll or a brisk walk around its perimeter. Water sports enthusiasts will appreciate the range of activities offered, such as kayaking, windsurfing, and pedal boating. The park is well-maintained, with plenty of green spaces, making it ideal for picnics or just sitting and enjoying nature. There’s also a small play area for kids, which adds to its family-friendly atmosphere. The views around the park, particularly at sunset, are quite picturesque, and the wildlife, including swans and ducks, is a nice touch. While the park is easily accessible with ample parking, the café on site could benefit from a few more options. Nonetheless, the peaceful surroundings and variety of activities make James Hamilton Park a lovely place to visit, whether you’re looking to relax or get active.

Top tip, take a canoe or even a paddle over to the swan estuary. (4 minute swim). The foliage over there is naturally beautiful, we saw many different species from Toads to Lesser spotted oyster catchers. Please just be careful not to disturb any cygnets, they can be sensitive and skittish. Be sure to stop off at the cafe for a latte and perhaps some millionaires shortbread, alternatively bring a flask.

Good place to see some sailing, come across large number of ducks, swan. Buy tickets for sailing in advance as they operate on specific days and in a specific time period. MOST IMPORTANTLY - don't rely on public transport or uber to return from this place as most likely no uber or taxi is available from here. The nearest train station is about 1.2-1.5 miles walking.

Total loop distance (tbc). Lovely nature walk. Dog friendly. 2 different play areas. Water sports are offered here through a company.
