Beautiful walk, especially when its dry and sunny

This is a lovely country park with beautiful walks both through woodland and along the reservoirs. There is a lack of accessible public toilets and parking isn't great however. Also watch out for ticks if you choose to walk the woodland as my partner picked one up.

Probably the most natural park in Glasgow. Most of the others are cultivated, whilst D2D is allowed to grow naturally, so you have the reservoirs at one end, woodland and wetland areas, and all away from the noise of traffic. Then there's all the historical stuff.... Lord Darnley, earliest development of the bleaching process, the rifle ranges of Patterton..... etc.

Unusual and rural feeling park land just south of Silverburn. Paths are well kept and meander through woodland following the Brock Burn towards the reservoirs at Waulkmill. I quite literally got lost so a good idea to have your phone handy as there are multiple paths and directions you can wander off into. There are signposts but they really aren’t all that clear either. Whilst maybe not the best views as the foliage is so dense there are lots of nice flowers and glades to enjoy. I’d recommend for dog walkers more than trail walkers. Difficulty of terrain: Easy

Nice place for a long walk with the dog round the waters. Spotted a lot of green algae under the railway bridge. Be careful if your dogs like to jump in the water. Also people in swimming in the algae water. Parked on Aurs road, a busy road with limited parking, and walked down to the waterfall then under the railway bridge.

Slightly scary bit where we lost the path and were on the main road. Whoever put the benches in clearly didn't want anyone looking at a view. Nice walk, wild garlic smelled great.

A lovely gentle walk which can be either a quick walk to the opposite side of the top damn or a full 8 mile return trip from the Dam to Darnley and back again. Most of the route is tarmac or a well maintained gravel path along the side of the 3 top reservoirs, where you get some lovely views of wildlife. But once you get beyond the bottom dam it's time to start wandering off the main road as the best parts are paths down through the undergrowth where you'll find waterfalls and abandoned buildings

If you fancy a walk on your own or if you have a dog this might be for you, some nice scenery thats not too far from Glasgow. There are no amenities at the location but then I wouldn't expect there to be. From the parking area you can walk around Balgray Reservoir, Ryat Linn Reservoir & Waulkmill Glen Reservoir. Just wrap up as if it's windy, there can be quite a chill off the water(s)
