    Glasgow Club Easterhouse Pool

    ★★★★☆ 4.1

“You wouldn’t think this was a council pool (no offence) it can be cold at times but… The warm welcome from Stuart on reception makes my day. It just shines positivity and lovely welcome. The changing village is immaculate it’s cleaner than some higher chain private places in my opinion. The pool itself is 20 meters and I have multiple disabilities. This is where I feel safe I love water but the pool side staff are extra vigilant in safety. Particularly Steven, Claire, Becca and Jack. When aqua aerobics are on I’ve overheard them radio to keep on those that may be struggling. They ensure the safety of everybody in the pool is of importance. The above staff Abby, guy with cool tattoos (Gerry) and younger girl are also so kind and supportive. They are not just life guards they are approachable friendly staff that make sure your well-being is first and foremost. Steven, Becca and Jack are very educated in hidden disabilities and wish there were more people like them in the world. As I am quite anxious I couldn’t feel more relaxed and safe than at easterhouse pool. The tiles are free of grime unlike other glasgow life pools and I am so lucky to have such a wonderful facility on my doorstep. Just to add Ian the manager who also has cool tattoo's is a very considerate caring person thank you so much. My only thing is I wish they were open weekends and mornings as I swim most days I dread having to go to other pools. Highly recommended!”

“Renovated for 2025! Open again for a month now, the changing area is completely modernized into clean, well-situated changing rooms, suitable for singles, couples, or families. The staff was friendly, and the pool was clean and well-organized with swimming lanes for various speeds/ abilities. There was also a swimming lesson going on for youngsters. A great experience for visiting Canadians!”

The castle is closed to the public but if you have an interest in history or just like to visit beautiful buildings then its worth a visit if in the area. Public toilets are in the castle. If you walk down the hill towards the pier there is a kiosk if you want to grab an ice cream.”

    The Time Capsule

    ★★★★☆ 4.1
    Closed

“Loved our latest visit! Booked in advance as can get very busy. Changing rooms and showers are a bit chaotic when busy but overall place was clean and lovely to see both flumes open again. Whirlpool is a ton of fun, lazy river with slides is great too and the wave machine is fantastic. Didn’t do the big tornado donut slide but kids loved it. They also love the huge water play area (where you can fire water at unsuspecting folk below). Cafe was open again too which was lovely to see (slushies and cakes were hoovered - also has hot food). As other people have noted, do bear in mind it is an old attraction now so it will look a bit worn around the edges and could use a bit of TLC on the rust spots but given its age that wasn’t a major thing for us. All in an absolutely fantastic day, lots of giggles and could have stayed much longer. Would recommend trying to go at non-peak times to get the best of the main features.”

“Wishy sports centre has everything. Indoor football, badminton, tennis, table tennis, basketball and flying...OK so I made the last one up! Shoot me! The centre is modern and clean and everything is signposted for your ease. The centre has a swimming pool and a state-of-the-art gym. The centre also holds a smorgasbord of fitness classes held in the various suites. There are excellent changing and shower facilities as well as an in-house cafe. The staff are brilliant and helpful and you'll have the best experience in fitness that Wishy has to offer.”

    Dollan Aqua Centre

“This is a great pool for serious swimmers being a full 50m long and they often have lane ropes out to stop anyone getting in your way. There a couple of gyms onsite too along with a sauna and steam room. The only downside is it's not much of a fun pool for kids although as the floor can be raised or lowered they often make one end very shallow so it's suitable for young children. Edit - The moving floor was broken but is now fixed with the timetable for the pool back to normal. I've added a photo of it here.”

“Good pool to send your kids for them swimming classes. Teachers are pretty great with the kids ,teaching them and disciplining them in the pools.Trust me they are very patient. And the lifeguards are constantly on the foot ,walking around the pools ,monitoring each pool and the kids/adults in the waters. Gives you the sense of complete safety. Parents waiting area is not very spacious but it's good enough. Well maintained and clean pool area Staffs are quite friendly and ready to offer any help when needed”

    M&D's Scotland's Theme Park

    ★★★★☆ 3.9
    Closed

“I've been coming here for years with my husband and cousin, mostly for the arcade. There is a great section of machines to play, from plush grabby machines, and a couple of giant crane games, 2p pushers, barbour snip, virtual reality games, like water-skiing, dance move games, football, basketball, punch bag, tower of tickets etc. Plenty to keep you entertained for hours. There is also an age restricted arcade and a prize station. M&Ds has had a modern update and you can purchase a card to play machines and put credit on them and also to use to build up your tickets for the prize station (not all machine, you still need coins for some). Bistro in the Loch has a good selection of food from sandwiches, cakes, ice cream, with a breakfast menu with additional seating inside aswell as out and drinking bowls for dogs. There is also a bowling alley (Cosmic bowl) with multiple lanes, snooker and pool tables, a sports bar, the recently renovated Montery Jack's with an excellent food menu, a wee gift shop selling mostly sweets (a bit overpriced), Amazonian for seeing exotic animals and a decent sized funfair with various rides, and Krazy Congo soft play. Also, the props and the decoration of the building inside is impressive with so much thought to detail. The staff here are a great bunch of people from the machine maintenance guys, the security guy and especially the manageress, Karen. She's a lovely gal who you see power walking around the building adding glam and beauty to the neon and flashy lights of the arcade. She's always there for a chat and a laugh and just great craic. It's always great to see her. Overall, M&Ds is a great day out with a variety of things to do and right next to Strathclyde country park. There are good options for food and drink, parking is free and plentiful too. There are always events going on at different times of the year and the website or app is a good source of information for keeping up to date and checking for opening and closing times as not every facility opens and closes at the same time. https://scotlandsthemepark.com/opening-times/ Strathclyde Country Park, Motherwell, Scotland ML1 3RT”
