Visited yesterday with my son as he wanted to purchase a gift for his sister. The upselling by the staff to children is really weird and concerning. It was us and around two other families in there yet took ages to be served . Yes one young lady was filling a bear for a little girl but the other staff member was just stood there chatting about her holidays …………. The gentleman that worked there as lovely as he was , was super pushy at selling vouchers etc ! We just wanted the dam bear ….. when making it to the till there was another 20 min wait as this chap was trying to sell yet more vouchers to the customer infront and was very pushy and wouldnt take no for a answer . He tried the same technique on me 3 times and i had to refuse……. 3 times making it awkward . Will not be visiting again in a hurry. Very strange experience

I want to thank the Build a Bear staff for a lovely experience. I'm autistic, and Bluey is one of my special interests. When BaB announced a Bluey line, I was really excited, but a bit worried about going in to the shop- I'm a bit too old to like Bluey really, and was worried I might get some funny looks. I ordered my Muffin plushie as a click and collect as a bit of an experiment to see if I thought I could handle going in to the shop to make a bear. I was in and out in 5 minutes flat, staff were quick to ask if I needed anything, speedy, and very helpful. I went home very happy, and with a lovely Muffin plushie. I went back a few weeks later to make my Bluey and Bingo bears. I was quite worried, so decided to go a bit later in the day in the hopes that the store would be a bit quieter (I went on a weeknight, at about 7pm, and there were only one or two other people in the shop). I wore my sunflower lanyard, so a member of staff came over and quietly asked if they could help me with anything. They explained the whole process to me, and pointed out all the different stations so I could go at my own pace in the right order. I assume staff have to ask quite a few questions about add-ons and extras, but I really appreciated that nobody pushed me when I said no, I'd just like the bears. Staff were very patient with me, making sure I was 100% happy with each bear before I moved on, and asking questions about which parts of the experience I'd like to do and any bits I'd like to skip. The whole process was very smooth and easy. I now have three lovely Bluey plushies that will be treasured for a long time to come. Thank you very much to all the staff; my experience was so much less stressful than I was expecting, and you have made a big Bluey fan very happy indeed ❤️

Overpriced, rude, not taking card payments, didn’t inform us until mid filling a bear. No compensation offered for making us wait 20 minutes while a family member tried to find a cash machine that was actually working. Argued with us further when they then tried charging us 95p for a cardboard box- after all the inconvenience… and spending a disgusting total of £47.50 on one bear and two outfits.

The whole experience here was disgusting. Upselling to children is a vile technique, and put undue pressure on parents who are already having their pants pulled down buying an overpriced teddy. They’re quick to ask the children if they’d like a ‘sound’, getting them to smell the scents, before even explaining the costs of this. At the till, asking for an email address, when they’re told no thank you, they tell you it’s to join their membership and you’ll get a £5 gift card, I’ve already said no! Then try to push a £10 gift card for only £5 to you… just give me £5 off the bear mate. Then finally would I like to donate to their charity, to annoyed at this point, they’d have got the donation if they’d have started with that. Would never walk in that shop again, it should be illegal to use those kind of sales techniques on children. Vile store.

On the day I got Elisha my Hufflpuff Eevee it was surprisingly busy. The summer holidays were over so most people were back to work or in school. So the store was at I'd say minimum staff. I could feel the stress of the customers however it was mitigated by the smiles and enthusiasm of the staff and in all a pleasant experience. The one in charge organised her staff well as it was reaching break time for some if them but she made it work so hard off to you mistery woman. Sadly didnt get your name. But you did fantastic work and the stitching on my Eevee is perfect. As for the person who ended up finally serving us at the checkout. It was a plesher to meet you M who's name is the same as my sister who was with me at the time and bought the Jedi Grookie. If you read these at all I hope to see you again. Though our conversation was brief it was refreshing to see some one who could at least understand my computer jargon XD and yeah the Ryzen 9 3950X was a bit of a showy move on my part though I like my PC's and I love building them so I get what I can. Was running an old 2Gb graphics card in there for a year befor I got my RTX so it may be showie but it took time. Again it was a plesher meeting you all and i hope to come again under more relaxed circumstances XD

Really helpful, friendly staff. Mine was a fairly low value purchase but they spent ages helping me find an outfit because the one my daughter wanted want in stock. Only reason I couldn't give 5 stars was because I think there's something wrong when the clothes for a bear cost more than my clothes!
