This surgery used to be good, but sadly since they merged in with another 2 (or 3?) they're abysmal. Things missing off prescriptions, automatic repeat prescriptions forgotten about, a rude receptionist (if you're unlucky enough to go in, or ring when she's working!) who is patronising & condescending. A couple of the Dr's are OK, but that's about the only good thing. Can't get an appointment for love nor money, yet whenever you go in there it's pretty much empty. It's the same everywhere from what I can gather. The NHS being run into the ground.

My experience with Somerton House has always been fantastic. Reception staff are helpful, kind and get me booked in when they can. GP’s are great and reach out if any issues + compassionate.Thank you for your hard work everyone, blessed to have you on my doorstep :D

My 95 year old grandmother is with this surgery. She asked me to help her get a specific form sorted and the process so far has taken weeks and we are still no further. We have tried to use the horrible web system to get it sorted and despite phoning on a few occasions, we are sent back to the online system instead of being able to access services by asking for them. I wish they would just listen to her request and sort it out over the phone without the stress of all the online stuff. Staff have been nice but asking a 95 year old to use the online system is not inclusive or accessible.

Excellent doctors at this surgery but let down by reception and the fact it’s so difficult to get the phone answered and when you finally get through, no appointments are available so have to start the process all over again the next day. It’s painful and inefficient. Making everything online is ostracising the elderly and as such, my parents have moved to Hope House.

I have been with this practice for years & most doctors we've dealt with have been excellent. However my husband who is long term sick with ME & Fibro saw a young women doctor having been told he couldn't make a appointment to see his own long term doctor as she'd be unavailable for sometime doing other things (Great for patient confidence) The young Doctor he saw ( Dr Thomson or Thomas) was incredibly unsympathetic, very patronising & knew little about his condition suggesting arcaic solutions like pacing & talking theories..she went on to abruptly tell him he'd had his time and he needed to leave. I mean wow wonderful bed side manner. These young Doctors need to be taught the importance of empathy & taking the time to learn that with each long term illness once size doesn't fit all, if only pacing and talking would stop tears of pain and misery, goodness if only that easy. Needless to say he'll be making another appointment to see his own more experienced doctor if ever she's available again

45 minutes to get through the telephone system, only to be hung up on when it was my turn. How does a GP surgery turn into a terrible call centre ? Then drove down to get an appointment and was told 4 weeks ! I think it’s safe to say the NHS is broken !

I want to say thank you to Dr Evans for being amazing and doing everything she could for me and my psoriasis. I’m so grateful and to the lady as well who I spoke to in the pharmacy department. You don’t understand what your help and care means to me. Thank you

I have moved into the area and joined the surgery a few months ago. Reception staff have been excellent, the doctors and nursing staff who have seen me have been kind, caring and knowledgable. Thanks to all the team, keep up the good work, its been a hard few years for all GP practices and joining you mid 2021 I have felt well informed of staffing issues and updates relating to covid procedures. Registration was simple and quick and it’s been a great relocation.

The receptionist is the worst I've experienced the manner is rude, this individual has actually made elderly people cry, I emailed a complaint NOTHING. I understand surgeries are on a ridiculous time limit/ schedule no idea way this even came about but the Doctors don't even seem to care anymore. My GP is becoming a joke and I'm not the only one seeing and hearing it, she laughs, argues with you I get letters and calls from hospital to consult my GP , GP apparently has nothing?..I go round in circles with these. Soon as I can I'll be changing its came to an end.

A truly horrendous service. I have been told that despite being unable to get to the surgery (feeling very unwell and unsafe to drive) I am not worthy of a home visit because I am not disabled or elderly. She said if I am not willing to get a taxi there and home again (which I can't afford) then I'm obviously not that bothered and not willing to be seen. I have seen them multiple times over the past year for the same problem, and every time I've been a doctor has fobbed me off with a new reason as to why they won't treat me or even help me discover what is wrong. I'm moving doctors surgerys after today's telephone appointment. It fixed nothing and the doctor was incredibly rude (Dr Smith if anyone is interested).
