Lovely old style house just 5 mins walk from the Hop On Bus. Everything was to our expectations. Ideal very tasty home cooked breakfast. Peter was a wonderful host and went out of his way to make us comfortable. We would suggest getting there in the early afternoon for parking options. Our room had magnificent views of the city. Try the local Curry Mahal, great Indian

Beware of the owner call Peter. His character is questionable. First, he set a 50% lower price and a non-refundable booking. When I booked the accommodation, he told me it was on a Saturday and he could not offer the price anymore. What happened to honouring a price that was locked in? Then, he told me to cancel the booking despite me not being entitled to a refund (read: non-refundable). When I reminded him of the non-refundable booking, he argued that I would be refunded entirely. Then, he called Airbnb to cancel my cancellation, leaving me with a useless coupon that came with a condition that I had to book at double the original rate. This owner did not have the courtesy to apologise to guests for causing them inconvenience and did not bother to do a service recovery. Please do not be taken in by his “fancy” house and “delicious” breakfast. You might as well book a hotel which is likely less expensive, has better amenities, has better customer service, and more value for money. Shame on him!

I booked the place for my friends and I to stay for my birthday. The owner rang me a couple of days before telling me to cancel the booking due to a leaking roof, he verified countless times that I’d get a full refund. I was charged, still no refund a year later. It seemed very calculated because he made me cancel at a time that I wouldn’t receive a refund from booking.com and he knew he didn’t want to give me a refund (booking.com confirmed he refused a refund). The owner has now blocked my number so I can’t make contact to get the refund.

The only complaint about this place was the parking situation. There is not really a reserved space that you can stay in for the duration of your stay (time restrictions and not many spaces). We did park a little bit up the road for free the whole time, but I would have preferred to park outside. We had a pleasant stay, breakfast was delicious and our host was friendly. The location is ideal, as it is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.

So very welcoming and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay. We were here for the Jane Austen festival and our hosts were kind enough to help us ready our gowns as well as give some local knowledge about where to eat and wander around. The house is stunning and the views spectacular. Being outside of the main city centre and bigger road meant that it was also fairly quiet. We stayed for two nights and found the veggie breakfast lovely and wish we could have stayed longer. Wonderful host, house, and location. We will absolutely be back again!

The place is really easy to find. Lovely house. Great housewarming, Pete makes sure you have everything you need and personally cooks you breakfast. He's great on veggie breakfast too.
