I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel. What should have been a relaxing trip turned into a highly stressful and costly experience entirely due to the hotel's actions. During our stay, the hotel damaged my car by breaking off my drivers side door handle. To make matters worse, before we had even checked in, we were blocked in by a construction lorry, which meant we were trapped and unable to access the boot of our car to retrieve our suitcases. At the same time, construction work was being carried out directly next to my vehicle, resulting in the entire side of my car being covered in sawdust. While the hotel did cover the £30 for two nights of parking and provided two breakfast hampers, totalling £46, this only just covers the cost of the replacement part for my car - it does not cover the labour costs to fit it, nor does it address the distress, inconvenience, and disruption caused. More importantly, we had to approach the hotel ourselves to ask what they intended to do to rectify the situation - this was not proactively handled, which is unacceptable when a guest's property has been damaged. Although the staff on duty were helpful and polite, they relayed a message from the hotel owner stating that they do not wish to contribute anything further towards the cost of the repairs, as they feel that compensating parking and breakfast is sufficient. I strongly disagree. Minimal compensation and no apology from the hotel owner, does not undo the stress, financial burden, or inconvenience we were left with. This experience clearly shows that the hotel does not go above and beyond for its guests, even when those guests have respected their property and paid over £450 for just two nights. We understand that if we had damaged their property then our card on file would have been charged. Therefore, the lack of accountability and underwhelming response to actual property damage of ours is extremely concerning and unacceptable. I left this stay feeling thoroughly disappointed and stressed. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before trusting this hotel with their vehicle, or any personal belongings as they may be damaged. Furthermore, nowhere on their hotel policy does it mention that any damage to your car is at your own risk, and after seeking further advise from solicitors, compensation may not be deemed, so if you wish to avoid this situation (as you may not be compensated for any damage done), I would not choose this hotel as full compensation should have been offered.

We had a fabulous stay at The Yard. A very friendly warm welcome, a beautiful room and such attention to detail. The bed was very comfortable and there was a very peaceful vibe. The location is ideal, away from the hubbub but close enough to easily walk everywhere. The fire roaring in the reception along with beautiful Christmas decor was the perfect festive cheer. I would definitely stay again. Thank You for such a lovely stay.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this hotel takes attention to detail seriously—every element has been thoughtfully considered, from the beautifully curated design to the warm, attentive service. We walked into the lobby to find a fireplace already glowing, creating the perfect welcome, along with fresh flowers that added a lovely, natural touch. The ambience throughout the property is exceptional: elegant yet relaxed, with spaces that feel both stylish and inviting. The drinks at the bar were incredible—expertly made and beautifully presented—and the cosy rooms were a true highlight. Soft lighting, comfortable bedding, and well though design made it feel like a home away from home. Add to that an excellent location, and this hotel really does have it all. Highly recommended.

I thought the rooms at the yard were okay but there was so much lacking. I saw the previous reviews and all the marketing material which they had and which seemed quite promising to be quite inauthentic if I’m being honest. There was so much sound not only from outside the room because it faces a street where there’s commotion all day and night round but also from the floor creaking constantly while someone is walking outside the room or on the floor above you. They do give earplugs but they hardly blocked any sounds out. The curtains also didn’t close the whole way and thus there was always light coming in the room. The main bulb in the room kept on flickering the whole time inspite of several attempts at my end for fixing it as the night shift person directed me with the dimmer. But this made it so difficult to manage sitting in the room with that flickering bulb and read anything at all and it gave me a headache. Also there’s no lift which makes getting suitcases so hard because of the narrow stairs. Their policies are also very strict and not at all hospitable so they need the room checkout at 10:00 AM and don’t offer any flexibility because apparently their cleaning staff cannot manage and will have to change their timings if you ask for a slightly later checkout at 10:30 or 11:00 for which they will ask you for 20 pounds. Honestly I didn’t even think the location was that great and I would suggest anyone reading this to take their business elsewhere and not fall for all the marketing they do. I honestly don’t understand how this place is so hyped!

We stayed for 2 nights at The Yard after our wedding and it was great. The location is fantastic and very central which makes walking to the city centre easy. The rooms are nicely finished and clean with a great bathroom. Really comfortable beds and in a very quiet location too.

Such a beautiful hotel. All the staff, particularly the front of house girl from Newquay, were lovely. The Fresh continental Breakfast in a basket was the best idea ever. Will 100% be back

There are almost no words... Ok I'll try. As much as I hate the cliché, this place really is a hidden gem. It is boutique without being tacky or badly done, it keeps on surprising you and I absolutely love it. I'm on my final night here, staying in The Apartment (the fella surprised me with that one) it is magnificent, clean, cosy and yet spacious and separated from the hotel rooms but a small courtyard. Storm, is the most wonderful person, big smiles, genuinely willing to help and has been so sweet and accommodating, despite my over enthusiastic mania and Libby and Steph have been so nice too. I could move in to this place permanently. Side note, I'm now addicted to 6 O'clock Sloe Gin but that has no bearing on this review :) Best birthday ever!

Lovely rooms, great breakfast and helpful staff. I would recommend for a nice weekend in Bath. The location of the hotel is only a few mins walk from the city. The breakfast is a buffet and very good quality. It could however start a little earlier. The rooms have bags of character and they have done the communal areas very nicely.

The yard cocktail was the best drink I have ever had in my entire life. No lie. My gf 8$ glass of wine was huge and in the most elegant glass. Cheese board unreal. This place is perfection. Even the lotion in the bathroom was pristine. I can’t recommend this experience enough.
